hi guys!

(I guess i better adress this one to: Hi girls!)

besides all the annoyance bc of the delays and backlogs and everything, i tried on my wedding dress again last night.

and what should i say..... it looks different. to be more precise: i look like a porn-queen. i blame it on the bridal-engagement-hormones that i bought it.

i spent about an hour crying and will see the alteration-lady tonite, to see if anything can be done about it.

Eric is getting ready to come to germany in 2 weeks, and he will work and live there until jan.10th. i really hope that SOMEHOW we will get an approval by dec. 10, that the NVC backlog is gone by then, and that we somehow, mysterically have the visa by the end of january. now i only need the good witch to fulfill my 3 wishes:

1) Dress can be fixed

2) Visa by the end of january

3) happily ever after.

but as far as my luck goes, we will end up with an RFE or some BS.

but, most definately, we should plan a get-together in the US next year! we could meet in Vegas for example! it would be SOOOO much fun to meet everybody! i would be happy to plan and arrange that.

lots of love for everybody!!!!!

@aly (:) )

well, the very first thing i realized about this whole process is to ignore all the stupid and dumb comments you get. NOBODY in this whole world (besides jeremy) is allowed to tell you WHEN to get married. and, hey, HOW THE HECK should you have known that this NOA1-NOA2 thingy turns out this bad?????? people think they know everything better. you aren't an irresponsible person. you just COULDN'T HAVE KNOWN that this would happen.

I had a wee wobble about my dress...I've lost weight and definatly going to need it adjusted. My dress is rich ivory and my mum's incredible 10ft veil that was always planned for me to wear along with my great great grans tiara is as white as white gets...we tea dyed it with the help of a pro and it matched fine...now the colour seems to have...how can I put it...errm...developed?!?...and now it's way to dark...might have to settle and buy a new one unless we can work out how to take the colour down a bit or bleach it (arrrg) and re-dye it somehow without destroying it.

You have a porn queen wedding dress? Sounds cool. Think how many dull weddings would have been spiced up by a decadent wedding dress!

I know it is important to you. I hope everything works out. :)

Dear Aly,

Tell those darn screwed up IT people to fix their mistake!

Sincerely,

A Darn Screwed up IT Person.

(Samby.... hehehehe  )

Haha - I tried that - they told me they would have to delete my whole account and make me a new one so I figured I would just let it slide :)

That's so sweet, Aly. I say screw what all the naysayers on here say. It's a PIB to have to change all your plans, but do you really need someone on VJ telling you "gee you should have planned things better"? Uh...to them I say "pshaw." (Actually, I say something worse, but that would be a naughty word).

The only reason P and I planned our wedding for next summer is because he's got thesis issues to sort out at the uni and we didn't want anything to screw that up. I really thought I'd have an answer by January, but that isn't likely to happen.

On the good side, my VJ estimated date has moved from Dec 24 to the 21st. Course, I'll be in Germany then for Christmas, but still, it's moved!

Hang in there, girlie.

Thanks :) We planned our wedding date between our birthdays so we would be the "same" age when we got married :) It sounds silly but the date means a lot to us - to the extent it was a case of getting married in either 2008 or 2009 so we could get that date...

Maybe some would would say you were a little naive to plan weddings on projected timelines, with the assumtion of no RFE's delays , denials or overcomes, but hindsight is easy. The important thing to focus on is not a ring or a ceremony but that you will eventually be together. IMHO

Yeah we were naive - of course we were. Naively, we trusted the information provided online that around April stated it normally took 90 days to NOA2. We thought there was no need to rush but then when we realised we also had a six week postal delay getting my evidence to Jeremy otherwise I would have been a June filer :/ I had no projected timeline as I hadn't found VJ at that point, didn't know what an RFE was etc...

But you're right - in the end we will be together whatever happens :)

So I don't know if anyone has noticed their dates, but my approval date slid back several dates.

I'm back to November 30th now! ^_^

I had been as high up as December 10th.

Mine hasn't changed - am on Dec 27 still... I started at Nov 25th... *sigh*

We're now contemplating the necessity to postpone the wedding if need be and are trying to find the money to reimburse my entire family for plane tickets etc - I only wish we knew more about the process before they booked everything *sigh*

Don't beat yourself up over this jeraly! You didn't know! And seriously, knowing what I know I would have thought that your Feb. wedding date was entirely achievable based on previous CSC trends. The sad thing is that those are just trends and not guarantees. I seriously never thought we'd be seeing these wait times! *sigh* I hate this!

Yep, I think most of the UK filers will have thought we would have the interview done and dusted by end of January latest. I recall reading on here about fast processing times at the London embassy. Jeraly's case is unique anyway, she's just been very unfortunate. I still have my fingers crossed for her that she can make it.

USCIS is still in the pick-up time anyway. They should be going at full throttle by November I reckon and we'll start to see approvals flying out..

I think if aly gets her NOA2 in December, she has a shot of keeping the original wedding date. The biggest fly in her ointment will be how quickly CSC gets the petition to NVC. I am rooting for you guys, aly! I hope you make your date!

Haha - yeah the NVC is a whole new ball game ;) It's just one of those things we have to play by ear and have contingency plans every step of the way - what would be awful is if the interview coincides with the wedding etc... there are so many "what ifs" that we just have to plan for every outcome... I just wish I knew now!
