Question regarding proof of relationship...in relation to NOA2

I know I am jumping the gun a bit here...I haven't even filed the I-129F yet (will do in a couple days though!)

But I was reading through things, and noticed that they ask for more proof of the ongoing relationship between the time of NOA1 and NOA2, if I'm not mistaken.

...I really have to wonder, just how necessary is it to be able to produce travel documents in this set of proof? It is going to be virtually impossible with my current job, and with school starting up again in a few weeks over a month, for me to travel to England to see my fiance...and she is saving up all of her money for when she gets in the US so she can get her own car, pay her insurance, etc etc etc. So spending $1,000USD or more on a trip between, whenever I get NOA1 and then NOA2 is going to be nigh impossible to accomplish given our situations (financially and otherwise).

We've pretty much figured that we won't see each other again until she arrives on that K1 Visa.

But having read that, I have to wonder if that's going to be acceptable...

We've been together 2 years, I have evidence of me going to see her, and she has some of having come to meet me, both in travel documents, pictures, etc. If all I can show for the next couple months is perhaps emails, letters, or what have you, I hope that would be okay.

Please advise here...I read through the guides and didn't see anything about this requirement and how it needs to be fulfilled. Fulfilling it for the initial filing is going to be easy, we have that covered as far as I can tell...

Thank you.

thejoz,

There's a reason why you didn't see anything about this requirement in the VJ Guides, and the reason isn't that the Guides are wrong.

Travel or meeting proof is mostly important for the inital filing. Other relationship proof, emails, call records, chat logs, or postmarks from mail are needed for the interview stage.

All you can present at the visa interview is what you have. And frankly, I've not seen very many cases in London where they actually ask for the relationship evidence anyway.

Just collect and save what you do have, have it in London for the interview (just in case!), and you'll be fine.

i am new here as well but i don't think you should worry about that, in case they ask for more proof you should provide more emails, fotos, phone bills, ym logs, cards, receipts of where u stayed , if u sent packages... but they don't always ask for more evidence unless you have sent unsatisfactory evidence along with the I-129F. You might want to call her on her phone sometimes even for a little while and write more emails, maybe send cards to eachoter, or you could just relax and wait for what they have to say. I wish you all the best.

It is proof of on going relationship between NOA1, and the actual Visa interview, should be kept and may be requested for at the visa interview.

Proof like letters, telephone records, chat logs, emails and email logs, additional trip info like airline receipts, hotel receipts, entry exit stamps in passport, etc...

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Okay, so...going to see each other between I-129F filing and Visa Interview in London is not necessary, at least that's what I gather from your responses.

In the guides, one of the lines makes mention of travel documents, as follows:

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now)

That lead me to believe that we needed more photos of us together, which would require seeing each other....but it's not going to happen, so yeah.

Again, if I don't need to worry about actually seeing her between now and her interview in London, that's quite a relief.

Proof of relationship does not mean proof that the two of you have visited each other between the NOA1 and interview. Just that you are in regular communication which means phone records, emails, chats, etc.

From USCIS:

Submit evidence of meeting the meneficiary in person within the two-year period preceding the filing of the petiition. The primary evidence may include airline ticket stubs and receipts (that indicate month, day, and year), copies of passport pages taht show the identification page and admission stamps, military order(s), letter from Commanding Officer, or any evidence that will help the USCIS to determine that the petitioner has met the beneficiary within the two years. The secondary evidence may be film dated photographs of the petitioner and the beneficiary together. The following DOES NOT constitue evidenceof meeting: disc, videos, emails, letters, phone bills, and greeting cards.

That's for the I-129F.

For the interview, for London filers, most often you won't face tough questions about the legitimacy of your relationship. It's not a high fraud post. You CAN use email, letters, chat, phone bills, wedding plans, etc, to show relationship at the Embassy.

My fiance was almost disappointed that he didn't get asked for anything more at the interview after lugging it all around and getting it together. That doesn't mean to not collect anything, but if you can't afford a visit, then you can't afford a visit. You won't be the first couple in that situation.

I have to admit, I mean, with her being from the UK, and London, I have kind of felt that it would be relatively easy for her to get into the country. You know, since the UK is technically the 'Mother Country' as it were!

Yeah.

Yes, one would think the "special relationship" between our countries would make a lot of things easier. Not always the case.

At any rate, while London is still easier to work with for most, not all, filers and more efficient and considerate of people's noted travel and wedding dates, you still shouldn't take anything for granted. Especially your visa.

Best of luck.

Well, I'm not trying to be naive about it...I mean, I just expect it'll be faster coming from a First World, Western European country than, say, a Third World / Fascist / Dictatorial / Communist / Middle East / Anywhere Else country.

Insomuch as she's got less a chance of being seen as a fraud, a 'mail order bride', or a potential terrorist or something.

I in no way expect London to fast-track her simply cause she's coming to the former Colonies ;)

Unfortunately faster is not a function so much of the issues you mention but rather the ratio of staff to visa applications. Complications can slow a visa process coming from any country.

But that is naive & elitist, no? The US Embassy in any country is run by the US govt, not a 'Third World / Fascist / Dictatorial / Communist / Middle East / Anywhere Else' country.

We are not 'connected' to the UK anymore. We have no special priviledges with them.

Wow I had no idea I'd create controversy! My apologies!

What I meant by this is that because my fiance is not from said country, (I ASSUME) they are less likely to be suspicious about her being tied to a government or organization that is not friendly with our country, NOR would it be instantly assumed that our marriage is some sort of sham (IE: She's a 'mail-order bride', she's trying to get into the country via a false marriage, etc).

My comment had nothing to do with how fast the US Embassy processes it's work, but rather how I believe they will look at who I'm petitioning for...

Based on the geopolitical climate in the world, among other factors, it is my assumption (there's that assume word again) that me wanting to bring a British citizen into the country will raise far fewer red flags than if my fiance were, say, Iranian, or Iraqi, or Afghani. Hell, I read a thing on someone's timeline about entry from China taking 1-2 years. I can only guesstimate why, but yeah.

Again, please forgive me...I do not mean to sound elitist or naive or anything stupid! I'm basing my opinions on the Bush Administration's definition of 'national security'. -_-
