Hi everybody,

My fiancée and I filed our K1 in April. Since then she has moved to a different house. Does anybody know how we can do a change of address so the embassy doesn´t send the packets to her old address?

We tried looking at the "Change of Address" Form (AR11) but it states that it only accepts changes of address within the U.S.

HELP!

I had the same question several months ago, but still never have felt very comfortable with this. My plan is just to wait until I get approved, then I will try to contact the embassy and also the NVC to get the address changed. It's a shame they don't address this issue already (no pun intended), as I can't think that we are the only ones who ever had their SOs move after filing.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

Sounds like a plan! We just went down to the post office to fill out an official change of address form. Hopefully that should work buy the time we get our NOA2, then all the packets that then follow.

Nid moved when the petition was sitting around in AP at the NVC, she just asked the owner at her old apartment building to call her when a package came for her from the US Embassy, when he called she simply went and picked it up, and just put her NEW address on all the Packet 3 forms that she sent back. The embassy seemd to have successfully caught it, as they sent the Packet 4 to her new address.

Once you have learned that your case has landed in the embassy, you should contact them immediately. Since approved petitions don't stay in NVC very long, it would be very difficult to catch it while its there. And most of the time, its on it's way to the embassy by the time you find out. Good luck to you both.
