Just wondered if people get divorced or the USC petitioner goes belly up before the 3 year time requirement is met. Are they still eligible to apply for USC in 3 years?

One of the conditions you have to satisfy to be able to apply for Citizenship 3 years after you become a LPR is that you are still married to the USC....

No, it's 5 years then. And there was a recent post from someone who'd gotten divorced and waited the 5 years, and she was asked to prove again that her marriage was genuine at the citizenship interview.
