I'm a little confused about the interview for the K1 visa. After the I-129F is submitted, and the USC receives their interview information, is it the USC or the foreign fiancee who submits the additional evidence of their ongoing relationship?

In many countries the USC is not allowed to be present at the interview and in no country is the USC's presence required at the interview. The foreign fiancee hands over any evidence asked for at the interview. The couple jointly has the responsibility for making sure anything that might be asked for, is available.

Oh, I see. I thought that I would also have an interview?

My parents went through this about 25 yrs ago, where my mother had her interview in her country and my father had an interview here is the US.

Hi,

Once the USC has submitted the application, you then have to make sure that the fiance has the info. for the interview. At the interview, they will need to providethe medical, police report, etc, as well as all the eveidence. Reciepts, letters, photos, e-mails etc. That will be requested during the interview.

And you can never have too much evidence.

Good luck

David

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

The fiancee will be the one who will be notified for interview, not you the USC. They will be given a checklist of required documents and you will find on this site lists of other evidence documents for your fiance to take to the intereview.

Once you guys get married and file for AOS (the green card) you may be interveiwed then, but you will be interviewed together.

I'm sorry but the USC does not submit an application. They submit a petition. The foreigner submits the application for a visa along with all the other items mentioned above, documentation of bonafide relationship etc. Generally, the USC provides some or most of the relationship documentation and an affidavit of support, so the applicant can hand them over if and when asked for them.

When I finally have a case number and anything mailed to me, will I also receive further instructions so I am kept in the loop of where my petition is in the process?

I've read the K1 Visa Guide, K1 Flow Chart, and the K1 Visa Tips but I also want to make sure that if I forget anything I'll always get an RFE (not that I want one)...
