Another Police Certificate Question

I have one more question regarding the police certificate.

Darryl lives in Sydney at present and has already been to the police station for his certificate along with fingerprints. He has now received Packet 3 (yay!) and it states that you need a police certificate for everywhere you have lived since the age of 16. Certainly this does not mean that he will need to be fingerprinted at all of these locations. Does he just contact the appropriate police station for a police certificate (without prints) in each city he has lived prior to Sydney?

It looks like Australian police certificates are given out by province. If he has lived in another province and the records from that province are not covered by the police certificate he has, then he will need one for each province he has lived in.

He will need police certificates from other countries only if he has lived in the country for more than 6 months.

Actually my question was more geared toward fingerprints rather than just the police certificates. If someone has lived in several provinces since the age of 16, I think it would be silly for them to expect fingerprints from each province. Getting the police certificate from each province would not be that bad because he could just fax in the form requesting the certificate. But if needs prints, he will have to fly all over Australia just to be fingerprinted in these provinces. That is what just doesn't seem right to me but I can't seem to find any info on this particular topic.

So I guess I'm asking if just the one set of fingerprints from where he currently resides will suffice in addition to the certificates from other provinces?

when he went for his police certificate did he ask for a national police check and tell them it is for a visa to immigrate to the states...

the 16 yr old thing has to do with if you lived for 6 months or more in another country...but if he has been in australia all his life he only needs to get a national police check not a state by state police check..
