If you have them, bring them all just incase. You may not need them, but better safe than sorry.

Hang, HCM Consulate might require you to show his 2007 tax because the tax due date has been over for months. My interview was in March (before the due date only 1 month) but we prepared everything and they did get the 2007 tax papers, no need for the tax of 2004 and 2005. My advice is pls prepare the 2007 tax as soon as possible. Do not let them have any chance to say "no" or delay your visa! Good luck to you.

T&T, by "2007 tax" you must have meant the tax return that was due in April 2007. That is for the income in the year 2006. So most people call it "2006 tax return."

Sweet Love, it's good to request for and bring the 2004 & 2005 tax transcripts to the interview as well. But what's mandatory is his 2006 tax return, 2006 W2's and 2006 tax transcript (the Consulate really likes tax transcript, I think). However, these things are also easy and free to obtain, and good to bring with you to the interview: employer's letter, last few months of paystubs, bank letter's, 2004 and 2005 tax transcripts. The list can go on; it depends on your fiance's financial situation. Talk to him, because he probably knows a lot more about his finance and where/how to obtain all these papers. Keep in mind it could take 10 days to request tax transcripts and also leave at least 7 days to send papers from US to VN using the fastest service.

I say this before, but I say it again.

Think like a Consulate Officer when he or she interviews you/your fiance.

Here is what I WOULD ask myself and expect of you, If I were the Consulate Officer who interview you:

================================================

"Why should I trust this girl who claims she wants to marry this US Citizen?

What evidence can I view to be 100% sure and convinced that this girl is truely love her US Citizen?

Can you tell me your love story that is the truthful and packed with undisputable evidence and convincing!

Can you show me this is an ON-GOING relationship with clear and easy to verify evidence (i.e.: postedstamp letter, handwritten letters, EMAIL is ok, but anyone can fake that easily, so does the chatlog, phonebill is good, basicallly, show me you guys talk, write, chat, communicate your love and build up your relationship during all this time. Because, after all, you want a VISA to come to marry him/her in America! Lack of evidence is a good sign of marriage frauds.

Wait, I only have 5 mins or 10 mins interview to confirm or withdraw my "PREDETERMINED" decision whether she will get a Visa or not. Believe it or not, I already view your case before I sitdown in this booth to interview you. So it is very crucial for you to prepare and submit ALL support evidence to convince me your case is legitimate, not at the day of the interview.

Notice how some of the "BLUE-SLIP" and "GREEN-SLIP" already pre-typed and prepared beforehand, so come the day, I just hand it to the beneficiary at the booth? That's how it works! You didn't see me type up anything right there and then. But the pink slip, I will personally have it handwriten or pre-typed.

About your financial evidence, I only want to see "HOW your future US Citizen husband/wife will financially support you and himself or whoever else you may have on your petition?"

Does he have a job? Making at/above the required amount (poverty guideline)? How can you show me these evidence to convince me so? I don't care how much money he has in the bank, he could have had his parents/friends lending him the cash, deposit in his account and ask for a Bank Statement showing that Big amount, just for show! Stead job is always better than not! But I am not basing my decision on ONE thing. You have to see the "BIG PICTURE" here, why should I approve your petition for a Visa?

Good luck and I'll see you at the interview some day! :)
