I would consider the following when i book a hotel:

Location: 5 mins to 10 mins walking in Saigon is relatively close to everything else, including the Consulate

Safety: Need to know if I leave my luggage in the room, will they be there when I return? Or the "cheap" hotel you want is also a place where the hookers bring their guests by for entertainment as well?

Service: 24/7 Front-Desk, if not who do I call when I need something, like extra pillow, blankets etc.?

Equipment: Business center (Fax, Printer, Internet access, Cable TV etc)

Price: reasonable!

Personally, I would check out "KIM DO" right on Nguyen Hue.

Or go down by "NEW WORLD", there are a few mini-hotels that cost around $20-$30/night

Good luck

I have stayed at Tien Hoa near New World. It was cheap and clean and had computer access. I am sure there are better ones but I liked the price. It was a short motobike ride to the consulate and a easy walk to the market.

I stayed at Anh Tu Hotel on 21 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Quan 3. It cost 280,000.00 per night. Really clean. From there to the consulate will cost you around 25,000 for a taxi.

I liked the Thien Xuan. Right accross the street from Ben Thanh market on Le Thanh Ton St. around a 5 minute motobike taxi ride away. about 25-30 a night. Very quiet, street noise is at a minimal compared to other places.

yeah, you shouldn't have any problems finding a cheap hotel near the consulate. Try a guest house, they're always nice.

Hi there, Nice to meet you two. My name is Jack and I am also filing for I-129F petition for my love in vietnam also. I went back to Vietnam during the middle of april til June 5,2007. I must have been to 8 or more different hotels in Vietnam. I am not sure where the HCM Consulate is but I can recommend a few hotels to you if you like. I am also trying to get my Fiancee from HCMC to come to the US and live with me in NYC. I hope we can exchange information in getting to forward so we can be together with our love interest. Good Luck to you and your soul mate. I just sent my I-129F yesterday to Vermont office. :D

Thank you so much for advices friends.

Kevin and I went to HCM for vacation in late June last year and we stayed in Que Huong Liberty3 it cost 30$ or so. It's pretty nice. That is the first time i've ever been in HCM but we didnt stayed long and Because this time we will have to stay longer, at least 2 weeks so we'd like to hear your advice about hotels. I think rate about 20-25$ is nice for stay long... :)

  • 2 years later...

For the past few times, we stayed at Indochine Hotel (KS Dong Duong --- www.indochinehotel.com). This hotel is owned by a Northerner man and the majority of the staffs are also from the North. It is located on the other end of Hai Ba Trung by Ben Bac Dang. It is right behind Sheraton and Caravelle. The rate at the time was $25 for a regular room but it is fairly quite and clean. We also tried the suite which was a bit higher ($35) and it was also worth it. It has free in-room internet, mini bar and all the usual amenities.

Other than that, there are plenty of hotels around Le Thanh Ton that fit into your price range.

Good luck with your interview

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...
