unfortunately the ignore feature is faulted because people constantly use the quote option. if that weren't the case, i think it would be a prized feature in ME/NA.

No, the "ignore" button will not prevent others from interacting with the person that you want to ignore, nor will it prevent them from quoting that person in their replies.

You just have to bite the bullet and take charge of your board surfing yourself -- read what you want to read, and scroll past comments or topics that you don't care to waste your time on. Usually a quote has the poster's name at the top -- this will "alert" you that they're quoting someone you don't care to read, and you can just skip past it. No need to even let your eye glance at what they wrote, if you really don't want to see it.

To "ignore" is really just a matter of will power, anyway -- it means "to refuse to take notice of." It's all in the mind -- it doesn't mean they will actually be removed from your presence.

Well said MK. I wonder if we can have this disclaimer pop up everytime a new person wants to post ;)

Yes, the best way is to ignore them to the point of not responding at all. Make your posts count in getting support and advice from vj buddies that care. You will come to know who is helpful here and who is just throwing their words around to get a reaction. It's sad actually and after a few years of interaction, I feel sorry for the negative ones that relish in confrontation. I pity the fact that they have no positive things going on in their lives to post about. Most of us will share once in a while plans or hopes. When you see someone that posts arguementative things all the time, you have to wonder if they have any good in their lives. Probably not.

Come over to my side of the street, where we offer words of hope. Where we gather to cheer each other on, not wait til the next post to tear them apart. Comraderie, online friendship, that is what keeps VJ special and thriving, not the petty, backstabbing. That is a very small, tiny population of VJ.

And then after we pick sides, maybe we can have a secret Pink Ladies handshake.

Newcomers should not feel as though they have to pick sides. They can ignore who they like. With or without the ignore button.

One person's nasty is another person's breath of fresh air. It's called perspective. Remove yourself from your own once in a while.

ummmmmm the 'side of the street' comment was not meant to be literal. My cliche of one is full, thank you. (when there is an opening, I will let you all know)

Hey Jackie, When you have an opening would you let me know? I am always open to the positive side of things. What good is life if you cannot have hopes and dreams and plans? To dream it is to live it, even if only in your mind.

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

Good, because you're one of the most supportive people on this site with the sleepovers and all. :)
