Hi all,

I am just beginning this thing and am super stoked to have found this resource.

My question is this, my fiance is currently obtaining here first passport and i want to know if we should wait to begin the fiance visa application process until she has gotten the passport or if we can start it now. She thinks it should take a month or so more but this is nicaragua and things can take a bit longer than expected.

thanks.

Get it now, but you don't have to wait to file. My fiancee got her passport after we filed.

You can go ahead and begin. She will need the passport at her interview and everywhere after. Make sure that she gets a passport that does not expire soon. At her interview when she receives the visa, she will need at least 6 months remaining on her passport before it expires.
