I keep getting told that you can go to the US BEFORE your K3 visa gets approved ... is that true? Sounds a little too easy to me.

if it isn't the case does anyone know of any way to get over there sooner?

Hubbys mom has alzeimers and I want for her to get to know my daughter and spend sometime with her before she forgets who we are . I know my mother in law has always wanted grandchildren and my daughter is her only grandchild (well step-grandchild).

You need the K-3 visa to move to the US, some may be able to VISIT only while K-3 Visa is being processed.

Yes true true. Be sure to follow the rules to avoid a 10 year penalty dear. You can come on a visitors visa through the waiver program but you cannot extend your stay or it can be big troubles.

If you can get a visitor Visa to come to USA, you can come to USA while your K-3 is pending. But, it will be upto to the Embassy/Consulate to issue you a tourist visa while your K-3 is pending. They will come to know that your K-3 is pending from your nonimmigrant visa application where you need to disclose that your husband is in USA.
