I was wondering which other VJ members are seperated from their loved one(s) throughout their visa processing?

I completely understand how you feel! I still have my fiance here for a few more weeks - lucky me!! But when he goes back to the UK, we also will not see each other again until the K1 is issued. And we haven't even applied yet for the I129F as we're waiting for what seems like an eternity for his Decree Absolute to be issued.

This long distance thing is really tough. I'm confident that it will be well worth the wait and all the sadness and loneliness leading up to together forever!

Hang in there!!

I think that most of us are in the same situation. I have been lucky enough to be able to go visit Mintra in Thailand 5 times in the last 8 months. I travel alot for work and had a bunch of SkyMiles on Delta and hotel points with Marriott so it was feasible to do so. The more I go see her the harder it is to leave and come home. We talked about this in April, the last time I was in Thailand, and she said," Someday we will be old and in our rocking chairs on a porch thinking back about this process and realize that it is proof that we really loved each other". "And then we will smile"! What's the old saying, "If it was easy, everyone would do it". I think that those of us involved in this process will also work harder at STAYING married when problems arise since the commitment was there from the beginning. Besides, this whole process has given me a reason to go to SE Asia way more times then I should have. Hang in there, your amongst friends.

Hi ya.

Yep, I suppose most of us are in the same boat with regards to being separated from our fiances. Mine went back to Northern Ireland on the 15th of May and I won't see him until everything is finalized... we're hoping October. We have a similar timeline as well, although since you are being processed in Vermont, yours should go a lot more quickly. So at least you have that! :)

I miss him terribly but try to focus on the fact there are many things I want to get accomplished before he gets back, so it keeps me busy. Plus we speak to each other loads every single day. Hang in there.... next time you see each other you won't have to say goodbye again. THAT'S the good news! Hang in there and come here when you need some support.

I hear ya and my heart goes out to you!

Jim and I havent seen each other since October 12th,2006 and due to his divorce there's no telling WHEN we'll see each other, much less when we can finally put the I 129 in.........

It's so hard at times, and James and me have been through hell and back this year already..........him having had a very busy stressful job at a Company that just didn't know what they did,the divorce dragging on,the pain of being seperated and on top of all that his "friends" trying to break us up telling him I was only after a Green Card..........

Trust me I know how you feel.

Try to focus on the future you guys will have together and stay strong!!!!! It's so well worth it.Love can move mountains!

Yep its hard to be apart, I have been lucky and nancy has come to see me a few times in Houston, and we were lucky as heel that my company sent me to Sillypore for about a week at the beginning of june so she came to come visit. And now we are just counting down the days, July 3rd she leaves Hong Kong and arrive in Chicago to go to Toronto if she can get thru with out activiating her K-1 and I will be on my way home from Brazil that morning and waiting to see if I'm driving to Canada or not.

Its hard but most of us have made it so far, just know that you are not alone, we are all here to help and support along the way.

Humbly,

I(we) cried like a little baby at the airport last time I left my girl. After that experience I vowed to never let it happen again. I quit my job (paid all my bills many months in advance) and will stay with her until we leave together. Dont let societal norms(i.e. money, job) dictate your life and/or love if you can afford it. Jobs are dime a dozen, meeting your soulmate is a once in a lifetime experience. I have felt your pain. Hang in there!!! I worked 6 days a week , sometimes 7, 57 hours to 70 hours a week just to make the time go faster, it helped immensely, both emotionally and obviously, financially.

Met Dec. 4 2006

1st visit to Russia - Jan. 23-30.

Engaged Jan. 24

CSC recieved and pending - NOA1 March 1

Touched- March 9 - recieved NOA1 hard copy in mail.

2nd visit - March 12 -27

Touched - May 23 (pleeeeeeeeeeeease)

APPROVED MAY 22 (On 5/25 I did the RFE trick and the CSC said it was approved 5/22. The dufus at USCIS was completely positive they were only working on Nov. 2006 petitions)

May 30th- Petition leaves CSC for NVC.

3rd visit - May 31 - August 31 ( If all goes well she will come home with me!!!)

Left NVC June 11th (I called everyday since 5/30 and they never recieved it??? Then on 6/13 I called and it was not only recieved but already sent to the embassy 6/11??

INTERVIEW 8/22
