Hi

Me again..wow I have a list of questions..and now Im getting nervous.

1. I read on VJ in the photograph requirements that we are to send full frontal views of our pics but I just noticed the I129F says 3/4 view.. WHICH IS IT????? Do I need to redo these and send them in??? Can i do this before a RFE???

2. I sent a regular birth certificate front copy only. I need to know if if i have to have a long form birth certificate...or is this one i sent with my parents names and the state seal acceptable? Will I be RFE'd and can i resend this with my A number BEFORE i get the RFE???

Thanks,

Faith

1. It was front-facing back when I did it this time last year...

2. If your state only has one birth certificate type (like mine) which features parents' names and seal, that should be fine

Faith,

Don't send any "corrections" in before you get an RFE. They will never really be able to match it up to your file, and you will still probably get RFE'd. As for the pics, there was a notice from USCIS that full frontal view (regular passport) photos are to be sent...

But, you never know, if they don't care enough about this or the fact that you didn't copy the back of the birth cert, it is possible that you will not get an RFE at all, and you will have attempted a preemptive strike for nothing.

If the forms you have say that you need a 3/4 view of your visa photos then you may have an older version of the I-129F. The current forms say a "full frontal view" for your photos.

Yes, but if you read the instructions in full you will see the confusion:

Give USCIS a passport-style color photograph ofyourself and a passport-style color photograph of your fiancé(e), with both photos taken within 30 days of the date of filing this petition. The photos must have a white background, be glossy, un-retouched and not mounted. The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view.

Taken from instructions form I-129F

OMB No. 1615-0001; Expires 01/31/2010

YMMV

I ran into this same problem. The old form said full but the new said passport style. I did passport style. But I got the answer by contacting the embassy. The embassy was really great at replying and telling me what I needed to bring. They also have a good website. Here is a link to the U.S. Embassy in Egypt http://cairo.usembassy.gov/consular/index.htm
