THis is my post from earlier in this thread. It works fine, but do not get your hopes up for a positive response. Most of the time they will give you the standard "6 month" reply! Good luck!

I made the call today using the "RFE trick" and had great sucess. No problem getting through to Vermont. Here are the steps I followed:

Call 1-800-3755283

2, then 2, then 4, then 2, then 1, then put in your case number ( EAC AND THE NUMBER OR WAC AND THE NUMBER) then 1, and last 1....the last one will connect you with a live operator...then you say you are calling to inquire about the RFE ( request for evidence ) you got, baically you want to know what they are looking for. They will probably say that they havent issued one and thats when you ask what is the status of your case...say some dumb things like..." someone told me that after a certain amount of time waiting it meant that i have an RFE" or " My lawyer told me i had an RFE" say anything to make them think that you are not playing a trick on them.

The lady told me they are now actually moving May and June K1's, hopefully no mre than 30 days more, for NOA2.

Wow, no kidding, you too first! I see the RFE slowed yours down.

Sometimes I assume that many shown in VJs from April and before just either didn't update their timeline or in some cases the relationships ended. It is good to see you guys are hanging in there and still waiting. Best of luck to you.

I wonder how many of us May filers are left?

I will update the summary stats on Monday, but things have not changed much since the last one.

In the meantime, here is an interim partial report: There were 54 VJ VSC K1 petitions filed during May. As of now, 26 of them are still open. For the past 7 days VSC has averaged .43 VJ K1 approvals per day.

Assuming that 10% of the open May petitions are dead, at the current pace it will take approximately 54 days to complete May. (Open petitions from months prior to May are considered to be of primary importance but are assumed to be minimal and are not reflected in interim report calculations.)

Yes Soch, my man called yesterday but we dont have any news. The lady told him that we were still within the 30 days so we have to wait. That call was just a waiste of time.

She said I would need to call again and ask for a referral in Vermont or look up the case on the website. For a referral she said dial 1-800-375-5283, 1,2,2,6,2 (then it asks for case # BUT dont enter it just hit 4). She said they would send an email out to Vermont requesting status...

Is this a first? I have not heard of this.

I did the RFE trick as I have done in the past. NOW i am on hold BUT i never gave her a case# so I dont understand why I am on hold.
