thats what i think too. my friends boyfriend is a syrian citizen (but they met in armenia and he is ethnically armenian) and he wants to come visit her here in the us. i'm just wondering if they even have a shot in hell to get him here or not.

Same chance as a Moroccan (or Egyptian or Algerian for that matter) getting one :0
we tried the tourist visa route last year and the guy was really rude and just made my husband feel uncomfortable and ...yeah it doesn't work. especially for younger males...

Timeline:

Sent in I-130 form: 01/29/09

Interview Date: 11/08/09 (APPROVED!)

Visa in Hand: 11/12/09

POE: 01/30/10 (!!!!) at JFK Airport in NYC... can't wait!

Got the green card maybe 8 weeks after 01/30/10...

TBC....

Our family members have never had any problems getting visitor visas to the US. The ones holding Syrian passports, that is. Does he have any family here? Invitation from family might help.
