Xpresspost envelope

On my first interview letter from NVC it stated to bring a xpresspost envelope sized 305 x 394. On my reschedule letter from MTL is says to bring a 314 x 394. I went to the post office and asked for a 314 x 384 xpresspost envelope and they said the closest to it was the 305 x 394. On the back of the xpresspost mailers they have the sizes that are available and there is no 314 x 284. But the interview letter from MTL is very specific and says it must be a 314 x 384 and also in the Appointment day reminders it states "you must purchase a 314 mm x 394 mm size prepaid expresspost mailer"

What the hay???? Is there such a size as the 314 x 384 or is MTL just F@@King with us again? I will try another Post office to see if they have a 314 x 384 but am I just on a wild goose chase and the 305 x 384 is the right one?????

Rach ran into the same problem... it seems the size they ask for does not exist. If you measure the envelope in inches (and the letter also gives the size in inches i think), its correct, but ehh.. there is something wrong with their math for the cm measurement.

It's the largest one that they sell. When I went to get one from the post office the lady that worked there knew exactly what I was talking about and knew right away that I was receiving something from the US consulate. She said that they’re used to people coming in and requesting them for that reason. Another note the interviewer at the consulate told me that the reason for the size has a lot to do with seeing who can follow instructions. A bit childish if you ask me, but thats Montreal for ya!!!

It says the size in mm on Back of envelope, bottom right. ( I Had to show it to the Postal Clerk)

Dont forget to get the signature required sticker that the Postal worker will stick on the envelope.

Dont forget to mark down the tracking number.. for traceing later.. and fill in the ship to address as yours.

yeah i read that in the papers. Only Xpresspost. I think if you dont have the right enveloppe they make you go buy one.

I would stick to expresspost

I hear you Colin. Purolator IS Canada Post though, isn't it? I will stick with MTL instructions just to be on the safe side - but thought this would be a way of getting things back sooner (geez, does it sound like Len & Bren are getting itchy and really want to move asap??????)

As an aside, when Kristy first mentioned something about the Purolator guy being there, I thought that was like the "Culligan Man" or some sort of water filtration company.

Yes 314 x 394 only they are available at most Canada Post Offices..

It is there largest size ... I Think

Colin

Okay, I'm a little bit confused.

I went to the post office yesterday to get an X-press post mailer but there was a new girl there and she was talking so fast that I was getting mixed up, and when she was about to sell me one, it was a tiny envelope and then I realized I should check on the size I needed so I told her I'd come back later. lol

I remembered this thread from a few months ago, so I looked it up, but I'm a little confused. So it is 314 x 394? Or is it 314 x 384?

Plus I guess I need to ask for "Regional" instead of "International" (according to another thread in here) since I don't live in Quebec?

Ugh, I never even got my Packet 4 letter. Why don't they just let you pick up your visa? That would make things so much easier. And why don't they encourage you to get overnight Xpress? lol.
