Instead of starting a new topic I thought I'd ask my question in a somewhat related thread. My Scottish fiance and I are going to be married next month in Scotland. A week and half later I'll be coming home and begin all of this. I know I have to file the I-30 before the K3. The problem I am having is where we file the K-3. One site says I have to send it in to the office in the US, another says we have to send it in to the consulate where our wedding took place. Still another says to send it to the office in the US and they will forward it to the consulate in the UK. I'm so confused right now. I've been searching for hours for answer.

Anyone know for sure where I send the I-29 to?

Since you live in Oregon the current directions for the I-130 states sending the form to:

USCIS Nebraska Service Center

P.O. Box 87130

Lincoln, NE 68501-7130

The I-129F is sent to:

USCIS

P.O. Box 7218

Chicago, IL 60680-7218

And since you are not likely to be doing this before July 30, the new instructions are to send them both the California address. You pay only one fee for the I-130. There is no fee for the I-129F and you can file both petitions at the same time. With a wedding in July, I doubt you could file in July but I recommend you send your petition so that it arrives after July 30.

You don't "send" any petitions to a Consulate abroad. If you both lived in Ireland you might be able to hand carry you petition to the Embassy in Dublin but that is not for K3 and again, only if you both reside in Ireland at the time of filing.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Oh Thank you so much!!!! That was seriously doing in my head and I had to take a tylenol.

I wish we could afford an attorney, but with the wedding, reception, paying for flights (me and my parents) hotels, and more we are pretty much broke. This site and everyone's knowledge is priceless.
