What does the medical include?

Hello,

My fiance and I have filed our K-1 and it was received on June 4, so the wait has begun! He is curious as to what the medical entails, i.e., complete physical, proof of vaccinations, etc. If anybody could shed some light on this, I would be most appreciative. Thank you!

Hi there,

My fiance had her medical in Moscow. the medical was pretty through. The vaccinations, and a chest x-ray. She had to wait 3 hours for the rsult. One of the envelopes that was provided must not be opened. THis must be provided at the interview.

The Medical includes going over you medical history- any illnesses you have suffered, family history,etc. They do check you out "down there", in most cases it is just to look and see if everything is normal.

They will need your immunization records if you have them, or you can get a Titres test- a blood test that check what you have immunity to. They also do a chest Xray and an HIV test.

This was my experience in Canada, but I think it should still be fairly similar for you.

They didn't check my husband "down there". The doctor asked him basic health questions regarding his health and his family history - the dr. let me in the room.

Then he checked his weight, heart, lungs, pulse....told him he was strong . hahahaha

I've heard people say there is a drug test, etc. - not for us.

The doctor spent most of the time filling out papers for us to take to the interview. He also copied down the vaccines and took a look at his blood tests and TB test.

Simple and easy (and fast).
