G'day

My fiance sent away the package to Vermont and was recieved May 17th so we are in waiting mode. But this little vegemite has to see his fiance. so i was just wondering if its ok for me to fly over there to do that while the forms are being bounced around the US and Australia? I do realise i have to be here for the interview and medical.

Thank you

Jon

JonOz,

The short answer is yes.

The easy part is the USC visiting the foreign fiancé - no issues at all.

For the foreign fiancé visiting the US - the answer is still yes, but has some caviates...

The foreign fiancé must (or should be prepared to prove) prove ties to their home country (letter from employer, lease/mortgage, etc) when entering to show they have no immigration intent. That's a very simplified answer - but is the basics.

Jon,

You might want to check out this thread which details the good, the bad and the ugly of visiting while K1 processing. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67796

If you are planning a short visit and have proof of ties to Aussie, then you should be fine. Good luck to the "little vegemite"!! :P And congrats on getting started on your K1!!!!!
