UK & HK Police Certificates - How to apply?

Hi,

I was just wondering which forms I need to complete for my UK and Hong Kong (HK) police certificates, and how I might access them?

I've found the Police National Computer Form (Form 3019B) on the Metropolitan Police website. Given that I live in the London area, is this what is required?

I also spent a few years in HK, so if anyone's got any experience of applying for a police certificate there it'd be great to hear from you.

Thanks.

In the UK, you apply to your local police force (info on the Embassy's page here) - and yep, Form 3019B is the one you'll need. You can take it in to a local police station (although they may have no clue what they're meant to do with it!) or send it (with payment & a form of ID as per the instructions - I sent my NHS card) to the address on the form. It'll take around 40 days for you to get the certificate in the UK.

Here is some info from the State Dept's website about Hong Kong... scroll down a bit for details on how to get a 'certificate of no criminal conviction' - you might want to double-check with someone who's applied for one, but I'm guessing this is what you'll need as the US Embassy's Hong Kong site directs you there.

Good luck! :)
