Hello Fellow Hostages,

This is my first post and we are new to the group. I am an Amerian attorney....... she is a Russian attorney....... and we have an immigration attorney helping us. However, I doubt our accumulated legal knowledge and experience will help us navigate the system quicker than any of you. I say this because we just received our NOA1 27 days after it was received by the Nebraska Service Center and then forwarded to the California Service Center..... about the same amount of time as it took Lewis & Clark to travel the same distance.

Despite our initial very slow start, we firmly believe that true love conquers all........ whether it be time, distance or bureaucratic lethargy.

You're right about the lawyer thing though...I don't think having one will necessarily speed up the process.

Wish you the best---My fiance is a prof. of mathematics at Bashkir State University, Ufa, RU and I live in Michigan. We just filed at Nebraska on 5/24, received confirmation of receipt on 5/25/07. Now the waiting begins Please keep in touch. If your praying people do it. I'll pray for your process to move smoothly and swiftly each day---- :innocent:

4/6/07 He came to US for 6 glorious weeks
