Additional requirements on passports

My wife and stepdaughter are just about ready to obtain their passports. Has anybody had any problems with getting in for the C.F.O. seminars or is it a matter of showing the required forms and into the seminar you go ? Times for the sessions are listed in the CFO website but nothing about making an appointment. How strict are they on requiring 2 valid ID cards ? My wife only has one that is current. She has no computer access and it's a 5 hour bus ride to Manila for her so I'm trying to make sure she has everything needed before she goes.

about making an appoitment, its a first come first serve basis. so if she wants the 1pm sked, she could be there around 11:30 or 12 depends actually on how many girls will be having a seminar that day so the earlier the better. and as for requirements i was adviced to photo copy my passport and i remember they want my nbi too and bc (photo copy). ive got school id so any means of valid id. then if divorce/annuled bring the decree, some pictures of you both (they asked me about it and good thing i have one in my wallet). maiden name of your mom (the USC). i guess thats about it for me... what about you guys? any changes so far?

and P200 i think at the prism and another P400 (something) at the cfo...

ps

on a one on one counselling try to answer as accurate as you can!

good luck!!!

Here's my experience at CFO-PRISM for the Seminar and Counseling, hope this helps and gives you an idea. They have 3 seminars in a day, and the first starts at 10am. If she wants to be finished early, then she have to attend the earliest schedule. You don't have to make an appointment with them. They usually accepts about 12 persons/seminar for the group discussions. If there are more people attending the seminar, they may put them on the next scheduled time.

I went to CFO-PRISM (February 21, 2007)

The guard didn't even asked for my ID

At the second floor. I gave them photocopies of my NBI, BC, MC and passport and they didn't even asked for my ID and the original documents.

S2 - picture taking and filled-up the forms.

S3 - film showing about a lady on fiance visa who went abroad (married a Dutch) after only a month of exchanging correspondence. She was subjected to abuses- making her pose nude at different locations (mountains with snow). Well, she ended up going back here.

USA Room - group discussions. She discussed about what to bring (hand carry), the do's and don'ts of what to bring, differences of visa category and what to do when we get to the US with those visas. How much buggage/luggage allowed. She did not tackle the types of Abuses. Then she gave us a copy of what was discussed (2 pages).

One-on-One Discussion: She just asked about my profession? If I will be working in the US? How I met my husband? Where and when we got married? Citizenship of my husband's ex-wife? That's it!!!! She didn't asks for more documents/info not even my husband's divorce decree. She's nice and chubby and always smiling.

Went back to the viewing room to wait. After about 10 minutes... I have my YELLOW Certificate!!!

Ok, just want to share my CFO Seminar experience.

For the ID: Postal ID, SSS ID and NBI Clearance can be used as ID.

Good Luck!

My wife had absolutely no problems, and as she also has no internet, I was worried she might miss some requirement. The only thing was she had to text me while filling up the forms, to ask about the date of my first marraige. So make certain she knows all the pertinent facts about you when she goes.

Incidentally, where does your wife live? You said its a 5 hour bus ride for her, and its about five or six for my wife, so they must live in the same area of Zambales? My wife lives just north of Palauig.

Don't worry too much too soon. CFO seminar isn't as scary as I thought it would be when I had my time (March 2007). I went alone, travelled approx. 752 miles, registered prior the attendance and the agent only asked for my passport (I brought everything, no BC asked from me nor NBI clearance etc). Heck I was even carrying a heavy bag full of docs and photos (better come prepared though, in all situations, who knows what the agent may ask to see). There were about 3 questions asked in my counselling and those were relationship-based and a remark about my degree at the university.

Others were asked to see proofs such as photos as evidence of relationship, mine were not asked (brought lots anyways). I can't forget the time while waiting for my turn on the one-on-one counselling part, the CFO agent told us to make that call to our dearies and ask for the foreigner's maiden name.. (most did, I didn't of course, I know my fiance (then, husband now) well enough to even consider leaving everything behind and move to the US). I guess they wanted to know how much you know your fiance/e..

Tell your wife just enjoy the experience! Good luck.

They do require two ID forms, remember the passport is a valid ID also. The also want two copies of the NSO birth certificate & CENOMAR, along with a copy of the petitioner birth certificate and copy of the petitioner BIO page from passport and divorce decree if petitioner has been married before. And for sure know your fiance mother's maiden name.

No appointments, first come first served. My Fiancee went to PRISM on Taft last week, we planned for a Wednesday to stay away from the busier days. Arrived at a little after 9AM for the 10AM seminar, no line, no waiting. Seminar and interview took 3.5 hours, then a quick 60 pesos taxi ride to CFO office around the corner for the sticker which takes about 30 minutes for them to process.
