Question on filling out I-864

Hi everyone.

I'm a bit confused about question 24 on the I-864. I am filing for my husband who is applying for AOS.

I looked at the sample form for the I-864 and it has 24e checked and the spouse's name written into "The person listed above, Jane Jone Smith, does not need..."

However in the 'above' section (24b) it lists none, not the spouse's name.

When I did it on my own, I left 24e blank, figuring it didn't apply as I wrote 'none' in 24b, but now I'm feeling a bit confused by it all.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Krisitna

You would put your husband's name in 24b only if you are using his income to qualify. If your own income is sufficient, I would put none for 24b. If you use only your income, don't check the box on either 24d or 24e.

If you are using your husband's income, list him in 24b and check 24e and write his name in the 24e blank.

Krisitna,

My thought is that you understand correctly, and are a bit brighter than the person who supplied the example form.

Yes, it is interesting that Kristian has brought up this questions. I agree with you, pushbrk.

My thoughts..........oh i have lots of thoughts about all this.

Mainly that i feel so sorry for all of us!

And that I may create some sort of group meetings like "AA" for people that have to deal with all this. "IA" perhaps.

Couldn't resist looking you up on this so we can share our pain. add me as a friend! I added you!
