Did you guys who are waiting for your "SLOW-A's" from CSC see this?

The California Service Center (CSC) is experiencing systems problems that are causing delays in the printing of certain notices. USCIS believes the delays are primarily affecting approval notices for cases decided between April 2007 and the present, although production of some receipt notifications may be affected as well.

My husband submitted my I129F with only a copy of the money order and a 'blue form' which the Diocese told him to complete. I'm unsure what exactly was on the blue form but the receipt number on the money order should be enough to prove it has been submitted.

Btw, the problem with the links is that this message board shrinks them (replacing important letters with ...) If you change the URL name to something smaller, it won't affect quoted text :)

Hello G,

Sorry I haven't come on visa journey for a few days now. I had a death in my family. I am just now coming online to catch up on this site. Yes, the good news about the strike in Nigeria is that it ended this past Saturday. My husband will be mailing me his passport photo this Friday, just to give them time to adjust their gasoline prices and get a supply of gasoline in his area. Thank God! So things are starting to look up again. Of course, I will have to wait forever for it to make it to my mailbox, but at least it will be on its way.

By the way, is it unusual that my case has not been touched since June 10 on the I-130? A few people here seem to be moving right along. Should I give USCIS a call?

Deb

Hi Deb, I am sorry about the death in the family. May they rest in peace. The good news is that things are moving again for you! I agree with gogo's comments. You might want to wait a bit before you call USCIS. PS CSC does not have a direct number. You have to call the USCIS main number on their web page.

G

I got my NOA 1 for the I-130 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

G & A can you update your table...I will mail out the 129F tomorrow.

Raj

Congrats! This is very fast. Wish CSC is that fast...

Congrats raj! I just sent out my I-129f today. :)

So i finally sent mine today. and with no NOA1 **crossing my fingers**

Hello G,

My husband came online last night and informed me that he mailed out the passport photo yesterday, so as soon as it gets in my mailbox, I will go directly to the post office and mail off my K-3 petition by express mail. As soon as I do, I will let you know and put it on my timeline. Thanks so much for your condolences.

Have a good one,

Deb

Hi RocksAnne,

both edp33 and I had the issue where our case number was off by one digit from that printed on the back of the check. The last digit on mine was smudged so I was really guessing at the last digit anyways. edp33's might just have been a typo, don't remember. Catou1181 also couldn't use the check's case number. You can call the CS line and they can give you the case number over the phone because you should be in the system.. or you can wait for the snail mail....

Hi all!

Please update my line on the Fabulous Chart - I got my I-129F NOA1 in the mail today. It probably had been sitting there for a few days, I don't check my box that often.

I discovered that the receipt number that had been printed on the back of my cashed check was off by the last digit. On the check it was a '1' and on the NOA1 receipt it was a '2'. So I entered the new improved number into the USCIS case status website and there it was! I even got a touch on it already.

Okay.. I posted the other day on vj that I would wait for NOA1 (I-130) until July 5th..then call USCIS if I didn't receive it...BUTTTTTTTTTTTT... I changed my mind. I called USCIS today, spoke to rep about non-receipt of NOA1 and that I'm aware of delays and glitches in system there. He agreed. I then told rep that it seems like there would be a great delay or I may not even rcv notice. I am planning to send out I-129F without NOA1, but include evidence that I filed I-130. Evidence would be front/back copy of cashiers check showing Receip# (highlighting it), Copy of USPS Delivery confirmation notice sent to TSC and Case status online letter. Rep told me this is evidence and thought it would be okay.

My question is should I include a cover letter of explaination regarding sending these as evidence that I filed I-130?

If so, anyone have a cover letter example that I could use. I just don't want to mess up and cause anymore delays.

This has been mind cramping.. especially when I've been told by reps and officers different things..like "no, you have to have NOA1"; "it depends.. maybe some have done it..but actually they're supposed to send in copy of NOA1 rvd in mail"... "wait longer..we DO NOT SEND OUT DUPLICATES".. "if don't get 30 days after..then we should be able to help you to get NOA1 duplicate". Aaaagh!!!

I plan to send it out tomorrow morning so I hope I get some feedback or info. I'm also interested in being added to timeline. Please PM me.

Thanks

Gwen

Note:last immigration officer informed me that even if letter (case status letter online) said NOA1 was mailed out June 5.. its not showing up as actually being mailed out..but with 1000's of others in mailroom..but will be mailed soon and for me to wait 30 days from CSC receipt (June 5th).

Hi All,

What I am goin to say right now is probably somewhat off the topic of this thread but what the heck here it is(its somewhat related):

Today when I got home, I had a letter waiting from USCIS. As you can tell from my timeline that my 129F is in the middle of being tranferred from NBC to CSC, as such I already knew the contents of it even before opening it so no surprise there. However, ofcourse I still had to read it just to make sure that all the info(like names etc) in it was correct so I start reading it and this one line in the letter really made me laugh, more sarcastically than comically, check it out:

"This is to advise you that in order to SPEED up processing we have tranferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing.... " blah blah.. basically to CSC...and I m thinking.. Oh boy... REALLY  .. dont they (as in USCIS) know that SPEED UP and CSC dont go together in the same sentence... :D tho I have to admit that secretly in my heart I pray for that being true and fantasize about my case getting approved really fast/soon.. Anyways, I thought it was funny and wanted to share it here.. if for no other reason than to just to lighten up the mood around here... btw, I m sure it is the same pre-formatted letter but does everyone else's says that too... now I m kinda curious too... :) I m sure it does say the same thing..

Anyways, yall take care and try to make it a good, if not great, weekend...

Best Regards

Pkewl

Zzzzzzzzing! Another update for my line on the chart please!

 I just got an email notice tonight that my I-129F petition has been transferred to (ta da!) Vermont

Yeaaahhh! (I am so glad it didn't get sent to the Black Hole of California!) (please don't hate me)

Great news. It looks like you got the NOA1 a few days before and it was sitting in your mail box. What is your best guess for the date it was received? I guess add 3 days to the stamp date.

Hey Tareq,

Just to give you a heads up, they sent my I-129F from Chicago to California for "quicker processing". Just be prepared. If you look in USCIS site under the press room, you will see that the filing instructions will change eventually. If you are closer to the East Coast, Im assuming they will send your I-129F to Vermont, but if you are West Coast, expect it to go to California. Mine is pending in California and I received a notice from Chicago about the transfer. I called USCIS on Friday about my I-130 I-797, and the immigration officer pretty much told me that they never sent anything in the mail cause CSC is doing catch up, which should have been done by the 15th but they are still catching up. She told me to call the first week of July if I dont receive anything. I am so dissapointed in them. I have called probably 4 times before, and the customer service reps pretty much lied to me. They said they sent the receipts and the immigration officer pretty much tells me they did not send me anything. I wonder who I can file a complaint about their system cause it is not right. I would be fine if they said it would take 6 months to get a receipt. Dont lie on the case status online and state that a receipt is mailed. Anyhow, I am happy to hear that you initiated the K-3 process. Its hard not having your partner with you. Let us know how things go. I will keep you and all posted on anything that comes about

Tussie,

Thanks for the update. Today I got an email from USCIS case status system saying that my case was updated. When I checked, it says the same thing you already told me: My case was transferred from Chicago to California.

I am not surprised to hear about your experience with USCIS phone-based customer service. Those reps have really not a clue what they are doing - they are simply outsourced customer service reps who have not been given any training whatsoever. Whenever I call, I try to speak to an immigration officer and skip the customer service reps. They will not transfer your call to an immigration officer if you give them your case number. The best way I have found to speak directly to an immigration officer is to let the rep who answer the call know that you do not know your case number (yes, I have to lie to get past this in-effective beaucratic system that they have put in place). Once I tell them that I don't know the case number that they will have to look it up, they transfer me over to immigration officer because these reps no access to a system from where they can pull up my case number. One of the reps also told me that they have ZERO access to any personal information and all they can give me is "general information". If you give them the case number, all they do is pull it up on USCIS website and just read the information that the case status website reads - which you can do it yourself if you have to a computer and the Internet (which most of us do) so it makes it pointless to even talk to these customer service reps.

Congrats. I made the updates. It looks like there is a pattern here. I am thinking we should look at the case nuumber assigned by Chicago as printed on the back of the check and add 1 to it.

My I-129F Check was cashed yesterday, the image appeared online today. I can read it but i'm getting that error message on the USCIS website. I tried adding one.. still an error message. I'll let you know how off the number is when the NOA1 arrives in the mail. Unless they just haven't updated it in the system yet.

This is so frustrating.
