Hey guys, quick question, or questions.. to those who filed the 129F for K3 already. When it asked for copies of your marriage certificate, birth certificate, and NOA1, did you file certified copies or just photocopies of each? Thanks

I just sent in photocopies too. Remember to send a copy of the front *and back* of the USC's birth certificate. For some bizarre reason they ask for both sides on the I-129F but not the I-130

Just an update...

Today, I received NOA1 for I-129F. I have updated my signature and timeline here on VJ.

So i was about to mail the I-129F on Sat and remembered that i need a copy front and back to prove my citizenship. I have a applied for a US passport 5 weeks ago so i do not have the originals I even paid the expedite fee. So now i am stuck...

Yep, they are terribly backed up because so many people applied for the passport because of the new and possibly forthcoming northern border requirements. Good news though, I thought I read on the state department site that they were going to be refunding the expedite fees.

I can't speak for everyone, but I know that in my particular case, every time I am absolutely POSITIVE that I know what I'm doing I find something else that I either a) didn't know or B) read so much that I forgot I knew.

I think a lot of the reason you are seeing 1-2 months is that when it FINALLY HAPPENS you've already gone through all of the "What the? What the? What the?" "Do I really have it together?"

And then, the preparation time to leave your native country.... especially if there are children involved... school, work, etc etc etc.

We all are in the same boat, but each and every boat is different, eh?

Yes we should all stick together and provided moral support (and some light hearted competiveness perhaps? )!

My husband (oh I love saying that !!!) posted I-130 for me and the children on 23rd May . He is not able to check the mail regularly for the next couple of weeks so I am just going to relax about it all for 2 weeks! I already have the I-129f stuff put together!!

HAHAHA I agree I love saying that too! I mailed my I-130 with the USPS today (to Vermont). It's terrifying and exhilerating at the same time. We're finally in the process! I already see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This thread is such a great idea thank you so much for starting it G&A!! I guess it's time to start on the I-129F now.. eek!

I noticed by reading some timelines on here that when spouses finally do get the visa, many of them wait a month or two before coming over. I talked to my husband (yay!) about that tonight and he said he wants to fly out the very next day lol. I wonder why they wait so long? After putting up all the money for all the trips back and forth and all the filing fees, I can't imagine waiting another day longer than necessary.

Just to give you a heads up, they sent my I-129F from Chicago to California for "quicker processing". Just be prepared. If you look in USCIS site under the press room, you will see that the filing instructions will change eventually. If you are closer to the East Coast, Im assuming they will send your I-129F to Vermont, but if you are West Coast, expect it to go to California. Mine is pending in California and I received a notice from Chicago about the transfer. I called USCIS on Friday about my I-130 I-797, and the immigration officer pretty much told me that they never sent anything in the mail cause CSC is doing catch up, which should have been done by the 15th but they are still catching up. She told me to call the first week of July if I dont receive anything. I am so dissapointed in them. I have called probably 4 times before, and the customer service reps pretty much lied to me. They said they sent the receipts and the immigration officer pretty much tells me they did not send me anything. I wonder who I can file a complaint about their system cause it is not right. I would be fine if they said it would take 6 months to get a receipt. Dont lie on the case status online and state that a receipt is mailed. Anyhow, I am happy to hear that you initiated the K-3 process. Its hard not having your partner with you. Let us know how things go. I will keep you and all posted on anything that comes about

Yeah. I saw the press release by the DOS. They said they will process refunds on a case-by-case basis.

Thanks G&A ..I did update my Timeline.

A question to everybody. even though I was told by USCIS to wait for another 10 days, I feel not believing them, and I am thinking to start my I-129F for K3 process, and instead of sending NOA1 of my I-130, that I don't have, I will send the following as a prove that I have filed I-130.

- My mail confirmation printout from online, that it was received by Nebraska Center

- Printout of my online status, with my case number showing

- Printout of my online statement with the fee ($190) showing, I will try to get this from the bank on their officer paper.

- Printout of the check image (back, and front). some digit of the case number showing not all.. it wasn't a clear image

- Copy of my filed I-130.

That's all I have, now do all of you thing this is enough to start filing my I-129. or I have to wait for this hard birth NOA1.

And my second question is, over the phone with USCIS when I was given the case number it start with WAC, so I thought it was Washington, but I was told no this is Cali Center number, because my case went there for further process! I am not getting this, what's wrong with Nebraska Center?!
