My wife went today to the consulate and got packet 3 & 4. Our interview date is set for the 8th of April. Now to just get ready and make sure that I collect all the needed materials. Hoping that all get their approvals very soon, and goodluck to thos who are about to be interviewed. And long life and prosperity to those who are already with their SO's

Congratulations on your interview date!!!! Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my petition to make it to the NVC even though our petitions have been approved since Jan. 9. I just got off the phone with NVC and they said that it is not there as of yet. I also called USCIS and she checked to see if it was still in their mailroom, but she swore that it had been mailed out Jan. 9. She said that NVC accepts thousands of applications every day and it takes them time to get the information into their computer. There are times I feel like crying cuz it doesn't seem that I will ever get away from the clutches of USCIS, but I have to keep trusting in God.

Tell your wife good luck for me.

Deb

I am so sorry to hear about your plight Deb. it does not make any sense that you were approved so long ago and yet to get to NVC. Both Ose-n-me and I got approved on the 15th jan and we have our petitions there now. I really feel your angst, just continue to call and bug NVC. Your stuff has to be there somewhere. I will extend your regards and have you in my prayers too.

Thanks for your help,

Have some news for you, guys...

Inspired by SoCalWaiter, I decided to call CSC, via RFE trick. Basically the laidy explained all the prevous touches were triggered by my I-129F being cancelled. Why? Well, if I am submitting an I-130 AND an I-129F, and they will be approved simultaneously, the I-130 takes higher priority so USCIS decides to move forward only with the I-130.

She said my case was on the queue for revision. She couldn't say if it will get reviewed tomorrow or the day after, but in her own words, it will be reviewed soon.

So, I guess I am happy to know my case is in the queue, but I am a bit sad to learn I will have to wait now for the CR1/CR2 process (which by the way, I know very little of). Yes, when approved, my wife will enter the US as a resident.... but I don't want to wait any more!!! Long term it is the best way to go... short term it is soooo frustrating!!

I know, I know... be patient.

I-130, I-129F

June, 07: Sent I-130, CSC

July, 07: Sent I-129F, CSC

March,08: I-130, I-129F Approved

Sept,08: Interview in Bogota, Approved

AOS

Oct, 08: AOS and EAD docs. mailed to Chicago

Oct, 08: NOA1

Nov, 08: Biometrics

Mar, 09: AOS Interview. Approved

Apr, 09: GC Received.

Hi Juan,

There really just is no rhyme or reason to what is going on at USCIS. It really seems that they pick and choose whose I-129 will be forwarded to the NVC and whose will be cancelled. Both my petitions were approved simultaneously on Jan. 9 and I, too, called USCIS today after calling NVC who told me my petition was not yet there, even though people who got their petitions approved 2 weeks after me have their petitions already at the foreign consulate and have interview dates. She told me that it had been mailed on Jan. 9 but that it takes NVC awhile to enter the info into their system. That doesn't even ring true to me when someone's petition is approved on Jan. 15 and their petition is at NVC on Jan. 23 and is now in Nigeria and their SO has an interview date. Juan, don't be too sure that what she is telling you is the truth. Look at the case of Divine Mercy who was told that her K3 was terminated because the I-130 had been approved for so long. She started working on her I-130 and just found out this week that her K3 was approved after spending over $400 on the I-130, so now they are switching back to working on the K-3 which brings her husband home quicker.

Good luck,

Deb

Hello, Amoro,

As Deb said, it's hard (if not impossible) to understand what USCIS really meant; if indeed what the officer told me will actually happen; or if my case and your case will have the same treatment.

Let me give you more details on how my conversation went with the officer. First thing she asked me was if I paid anything for my I-129F. I sent it in August, so the answer is no, I did not paid anything for my I-129F. Then the officer answered "your I-129F is going through an administrative cancellation. When I-130s were taking too long to get processed, I-129Fs made sense, but now since our times have improved (yeah, right), why would you want to have a K3 when you can have the I-130 approved? Your I-130 is in the queue for approval, may happen tomorrow, the day after, blah blah".

I was left with the impression that if I had paid for my I-129F, it would get processed. But since I didn't pay for it, my only option is to wait for the I-130. Go figure. Yesterday, after discussing this with my wife, I came to the conclussion that I could spend nights and nights trying to make sense of this whole process, and still be left with more questions than answers. So I will simply wait, Amoro. Wait for an RFE (I haven't got one yet), wait for I-130 approval, or maybe even I-129F approval. I will call USCIS around Feb 15th, if nothing happens before.

Please let me know if your case changes. Your case has been the closest to mine that I've found. Good luck, my friend.

Hello Juan,

I can understand what you mean... but the thing is, after our aproval we must wait more then 8 month again, and then we will have our interview in a Embassy in our conteries...or is it not so what I think? how long shall it take after I-130 aprroval? can you wait on your interview so long?

Anyway, I will let you know if my case says to USCIS "good bye" ;)

I will pray a lot over our soon approval in this or next week...

amoro

Hey, Amoro, guess what.... another touch! 1/29

I am not even sure if I should get excited. Anyway, going back to your question... noo!! I can't wait one additional day without my wife!! But what else can I do? Specially now that my case is moving, I prefer to wait and see the final outcome of all these touches.

I am a rookie in the IR-1/CR-1 arena so I am not sure about how long it takes. I've seen some cases being approved in 4 months (in the Colombia club); Devine Mercy was expecting to have her spouse in the U.S. BY NEXT YEAR, so it seems it varies greatly from place to place. Maybe someone else in this forum with a bit more experience can share with us their experience?

Was your case touched too, Amoro?

Hi Juan,

no, my case has not touched today...

we can do nothing... but I am sure when we are optimistic and pray for this process, we will be with our family very soon.

I will check my case on Thursday again, because they will update their server. Hopefully, we will have a good news....

Best wishes

amoro
