Following Deb's steps, I called USCIS (again, for the 4th time), using the RFE trick. This time I got a nice guy who confirmed my fear: basically when I sent my I-129F in August they took my I-130 (sent in June) and stapled them together in the August pile. Since I am cleary outside their normal processing times, he promised to give my documents to an adjudicator. Let's see if that happens.

But he shared with me some additional information that you may find interesting: According to this guy, they are working on July cases for the I-130 and August 6th cases for the I-129F. I know everyone at USCIS will tell a different story, but in case this is true, I assume a lot of people will find this information interesting.

Juan Carlos,

The Early August for 129F was confirmed to me too by an agent. The exact same thing happened to my petitions. They stapled my 130 and 129 and piled in under August.

I've been told they're working on my petition now. My 129F priority date is Aug. 1.

Happy New Year!

I got an email from USCIS on Dec 26. They said they mailed a notice requesting additional evidence, but until now, we haven't gotten anything from them.

Is it normal because of Christmas und New Year Holidays? Will it take a normal post in the US 5 or 6 days?

Apparently, all of the US-Systems work very slow

No, the postal system is not that slow in the US. USPS is actually very good. There is a little slowness between Dec. 16 and December 27 or so because of the Christmas cards and packages that get mailed. But don't expect the RFE in the mail for a week or two. It takes a while for the USCIS to actually mail it out after the generate it (generation also generates the email). USCIS is sloooooowww. Once USPS has it, you'll have it an a few days depending on where the USC lives.

Urge is correct. Email told me they sent out an RFE for me on Dec. 12. I got it Dec. 27 in the mail. The postmark on the envelope said Dec. 20 so it took 7 seven days which is 2 days longer than it took for the other two NOA-1's, probably because one of those days was Christmas, so wait just a bit longer before you call them.

Make it a Mocha frappuccino for me, SOCALWRITER! Actually it is kind of chilly, so I may go with hot chocolate.

Based on Deb's experience, about three days after she called there were "touches" on the system for her case. Which means.... by Saturday or Monday we should receive a touch in our cases if indeed they are working on them.

So... pleeeeeease, Syadira, Socalwriter... let me know if you get any updates. I'll be a bit more conservative... I doubt it will be approved by Monday (too soon for USCIS. Those guys take at least three weeks for anything), but if it gets approved within the next couple of weeks, I promise I'll send you a picture of me jumping in one foot.

Juan Carlos.

P.S. BTW, I am glad to find I am not the only one left in the mid-June / mid-Aug boat.
