The Interview

I would much prefer hearing 4-6 mos. then them lowballing it so much. Sure I'd get upset but I'd at least know I was being told a more accurate time frame and plan accordingly. Some ppl do prefer having sunshine blown up their azzes. I'm not one of them.

i know, but imagine the person is unaware that it CAN take months upon months, being prepared for such is 1/2 the battle. they are smacked in the face after thinking the interview is the hard part.

i'm just saying i can partially see why they do it, although it can be misleading.

Well congrats! You figure at least you made it over this part of the hurdle. So now it's back to the feeling you had before you had an interview scheduled where you have no freaking idea what was happening LOL. You could always do Lionlioness' route and call the DOS and check on your stuff to have a better dea of what's happening. No matter WHEN he gets his passport back.. 2-3 weeks or 2-6 months, at least you passed, and if you hadn't passed then it would be a whole other ballgame. So I know you're excited!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Sam feels the very same way. Why would they lie about how long the wait is going to be. He would have had an easier time accepting the length of time it has been if they would have told him 4-5 months instead of "you will have your visa in 1-2 months" When I tell him about calling DOS and they say still in AP he asks, but did you tell them they told me 1-2 months? So hopefully this will be different scenario if they are getting more help in their offices.

My husband's interview was in English, also. The CO asked him which he preferred and Mo told him, English. He figured why not do it in English since that is the language we communicate in and it would show the CO that he could speak and comprehend English. It is preferred that the interview be done in the language that the petitioner and beneficiary communicate in.
