Salaam Y'all (with only a pinch of a southern drawl...lol),

I wanted to share with fellow boardies, especially my Sisters striving towards reuniting and building a future with their MENA husbands/fiances in this grueling process, that our petition was approved at CSC on May 18, 2007, Alhamdulillahi Rabb-ul-Alameen. :innocent: Just thought it would be nice to see which other folks on the Middle East/North Africa forum have/will have their NOA 2's in May as well, so we can touch bases with each other while we trudge through the next steps. Reading through some of these posts and seeing what others have been through, I am often inspired at the determination and courage that so many display in times of trial, during this process. What a commendable testament of inner conviction and steadfastness.....

Since the Consulate in Casablanca is still staffed even though closed to the public, I wonder if they are mailing out Packet 3's or if it's better to download Packet 3 online and then send it in after NVC sends the petition off? Time to start skimming some older threads to see what's in Casa's Packet 3 so we can start skipping along the Alice in Maghrebland papertrail....

Congratulations on the NOA2. There is no packet three to send back to the consulate in Casa. The packet they send out has the interview date, instructions for the medical and a list of forms and documents needed. There is nothing to send back to Casa and everythign is brought to the interview. The trick is that things like birth certificates, police reports etc have an epiration date. The medical is good for one year, but you want it to still be valid when your fiance arrives in tehUS and you file for AOS so that you do not have to retake it.

Good luck.

Huh???

Anyways, to change topic...

Happy Shavuot!!!!

It's the day the Israelites received the Torah at Mount Sinai. It's often celebrated by staying up all night and studying Torah (but not by me, I had to work today, sick people don't wait for Shavuot; though oddly the hospital is very quiet on Christmas)

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

No, I'm not a native arabic speaker, but I attend Arabic classes. I'm also learning Tamazight, the native language of indigenous Amazigh (Berber) people of North Africa, which I find to be easier for me than Arabic, though Most advised me to start with Arabic first. The Tamazight script is Tifinagh, which is related to ancient Egyptian/Libyan Hieroglyphics.

Happy Shavout....Shalom! :star:
