Jamaican Fiance Question and advice needed?

I got a notice on april 5th, stating that my case was sent to the embassy in Kingston. I just received on Wednesday the 16th of May a letter from the embassy stating that we have to return the ds-230 to the embassy before getting the interview scheduled. I live in New York and my fiance lives in Jamaica, is it customary for them to send the package to the American citizen or to the fiance, because he still have not received anything to date. Is there a way for him to schedule to pick up any additional mail?

Packet 3 will be mailed to your fiance. However, he can email Kingston for an appt to have it picked up. Once he does that make sure he brings a completed DS-230 part I from the website signed and dated. That way they will be able to schedule the interview soon. at least you got a letter, my package was also sent to the embassy the week of 4/4 and I had to call them asking for an interview date, and they said they couldn't schedule the interview because of the missing ds-230.

It may be easier for you to fill out the ds230 part I for him and mail it to him (global priority) so that he can then mail it to the embassy (make sure hesigns & includes a copy of the first page of his passport).

you can also email the embassy and request that they resend the packet but jamaican mail is slow and undependable, so they may have mailed it before and it was returned.

I WOULD ADVISE YOUR FIANCE TO CHECKTHE MAIL AT LEAST 2 X A WEEK BECAUSE SOMETIMES THINGS ARE JUST SITTING THERE AND THEY (POST OFFICE) DON'T REALLY CHECK.

The same thing haapened to me.
