Congratilationss on finding out you were in the sysyem Neenuh. You should still get an NOA1, but I would not wait for it before sending in the I-129F.

I am not sure how much you have read, but CSC admitted having problems sending out I-797c notices or NOAs. They also have been slow at updating the CRIS database.

Hopefully, the rest of your journey will go smoothly.

Anyone notice that you must change your password on CRIS with 2 days left? I think the programmer was dyslexic. :jest:

Then you are kicked out of the system after you change your password. I'm assuming they did not consider what will happen if the system is backlogged and your password does not change immediately.

Just another reason I did not choose the path of becoming a programmer.

oh gawd, USCIS just revised YET AGAIN their I-129F dated 07/30/07

good thing i went to check before sending feelicks our packet

(yup, i do the friggin paper work)

no need to submit the packet to chicago

instead, we submit the packet to laguna niguel

and did you guys know the fee for I-129F petition is now $455, wth?

plus K3 petitions are no longer required to pay ANY fee

we don't have our NOA1 from our I-130

we're submitting our money order copy, both front and back and the online case number form

i still can't believe they're charging $455 for K1 petition

if there's one good thing that came out of this long wait, it's that we don't have to pay any processing fee

Bare in mind, that the people applying for the K3 visa have to pay for the I130 ($355). Which is still cheaper than K1, but it is certainly NOT free (K1 requires no other petition to be filed). The I130 and I129F (K3) used to have two separate costs, they merged them into one cost and applied it to the I130 only. It works out to roughly the same price as pre-"price change".

Neenuh,

The change in processing fees and locations has been discussed at great lengths for the last month+ on other threads. Be careful about the "no processing fees" bit for the K3 I129F. While people who submit the I130 with the new $355 fee surely don't need to pay a fee for the I129F for K3, you are in a grey area. They never specifically discussed the situation of people sending in the I130 with the old fee and then sending in a no fee I129F. If I were you, I would include a check for the old $170 fee. Unless USCIS shortly gives precise guidance for the people in your situation in a new press release, the decision is up to you. You can send the form with a check for the old fee of $170 or send it with no fee at all. If you send it with no fee, they might send it back or they might not. You will be the guinea pigs, it will be interesting to see what USCIS does whichever way you go.

yeah i was just about to ask...

thing is, our packet will be mailed next week

which makes me think it's best to submit with the revised version

better than having the entire thing mailed back to us because we mailed with the former one?

as for the fee, feelicks will try to find out by calling USCIS

and this is wishful thinking he gets to talk to someone who actually nows what they're talking about

we've wasted so much time already just waiting for the I-130 receipt

shouldn't really be this complicated, but USCIS wants to be gay

will keep everyone posted

and thanks for the info

ok, so logically, using form 11/24/06 edition means paying $170, yeah?

feelicks called USCIS twice today

el oh el @ being able to talk to someone who knows what they're talking about

so this one lady said to just follow the instructions on the form...

this "supervisor" initially said to pay 455usd, and then said no fee to pay...

i'm beginning to think USCIS dumped their dumb employees to answer all our calls

it's really frustrating

in the end, we still don't know what to do

hurray for USCIS

I agree. The trick is to convince the CSR to transfer you to someone who knows what they are talking about.

The lack of information line is outsourced, which explains why they do not know their job. I have two new relatives who work for call centers in Manila answering calls for US companies.

Edit: Using the 7/30/2007 edition may mean still paying $170 plus, two shipping charges, plus more delays. I hope USCIS accepts your I-129F at no charge. It is time they give someone a break.

This is the first reply I have seen on the k3 I-129F fees for petitioners who filed I-130 before July 30. It appears USCIS did not cash MariEnMichelle's check. So hopefully the rest of you who filed an I-130 before July 30 willl get your I-129f fee waived.
