P,

The RFE includes a personalized cover letter and a form attached to it. They asked for all three types of evidence, but really just need one based on the submittal. It seems to me that whoever receives an RFE is required to provide all three regardless. Like someone else said, just copy what was sent the first time and correct the passport photo problem.

I'm confused as to how you know that they just need once based on the submittal. Did they signify that providing the other two are optional? Perhaps you need to submit more evidence of those two?

Technically, I don't know. I was sent a form that covered all three areas. However, based on what VJ guides and VJ predecessors indicate, I had two of the three RFE requests well satisfied.

When I mailed the I-129F, I wondered to what extent the photo size would matter to USCIS. Based on the RFE, it seems the 2"x2" specification carries as much weight as anything else! But do I know or did they say: 'MM, you've got this wrong. Please correct.' ?? No. It's conjecture.

Well, it's something.

The RFE requested three types of evidence in the RFE:

a) Proof of US Citizenship

This was provided via my US Passport which has 8 years remaining.

B) Proof of having met within the previous two years

This was provided via passport pages, Turkey visa, hotel receipts, and airline receipts.

c) 2"x2" photo of petitioner and beneficiary

This was the problem area. MS mailed 1.25"x1.25" passport photos (despite explicit instructions).

He doesn't quite get it that we have to provide precisely what is requested. I had him to take a second round of passport photos to comply with the specifications. He did, but they were still small. His perspective is: "It's close enough." :girlwerewolf2xn:

I'll see MS in three weeks (yea!!) and we'll get this sorted when I'm there. Onward and upward.

Sorry, I know I'm going to sound very very silly...but I can't figure this out

You initially provided copies of all the pages in your passport as proof of citizenship and got an RFE? or did you not submit that with the first package, and consequentially got an RFE?

Not silly at all(!). It wasn't the passport evidence provided (yes, we included that documentation in the K-1 package) but the passport photos. MS sent passport photos which were 1.25"x1.25". USCIS requires passport photos to be 2"x2". I believe that's why we received the RFE.

MS called this morning "... just to say Good Morning, sweetheart." How can you not love a man like that? I told him about the RFE. His response: "Oh. Hmm. So they need two inches by two inches?" Yup. "Okay. We'll do it right this time." Like I said, onward and upward.
