Passport-style photo with I-129F

Regarding the passport-style photo which is to be sent with the I-129F, the instructions specify the following:

"The dimension of the full frontal facial image of you and your fiancé(e) in separate photos should be about one inch from your chin to the top of your hair in 3/4 frontal view."

What exactly do they mean by a 3/4 frontal view? The instructions specify a passport-style photo. To me, the "3/4 front view" sounds different than a normal passport-style photo.

what i did was, i just went to walgreens or any other place that does passport fotos, and ask them to take 2 passport photos

then i just sent those in, i was a bit nervous after as i thought that mine did not fit the requirements

but it worked, they approved me

so my suggestion is just to go to a place that advertises passport fotos

and let them do it

Read the following: http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/04_08_02Photo_flyer.pdf

3/4 frontal is wrong, and the instructions have not been updated. They need to be 2"x2" full frontal per the above flyer.

I understand 3/4 frontal face view to be the VERY slightest side tilt to plainly show the right ear, especially if you have long hair. Perhaps someone else can elaborate or correct.

All passport pics for USCIS should be full frontal view.

We had ours done at Costco, for a very reasonable price.

I worried about this mine are not quite 2x2 our English photobooths just don't seem to do that size. I have sent what I got out of the machine but admit I am bit worried. Any English people done the same and either got away with it or not as the case maybe? It would be good to know.

The ones from a photo booth tend to not be acceptable quality. In our case my fiancee gave me 2 that were 1"x2" and they were acceptable, they were full frontal view.

Go to a photo shop that does passport photos.

I went to a photo shop that did passport photos. Luckily they were able to set the size to 2x2" and USCIS didn't have any problems with it. Make sure to have your name written lightly on the back.

Go to a photo shop that does passport photos.

I'll need to try that again, I have had 3 lots done already and the backgrounds all came out a nasty blue/grey colour. I'll try a different town.

Do you think I should ask my husband to hang fire on posting the I-130 until I get the better photos done? Aaargh who would have thought after the pain staking time we spent doing the forms the photo would be the problem!

Advice please.

go to a photoshop and have them make it 5 CM by 5 CM. That is about as close as you can get to 2" by 2" and are aceptable.

If you go to any place that does passport phots they will be able to help you out. We just went down the road to the Walgreens i think it is called and they did them. They knew what we needed.Just don't forget to label and forget to date them.

We had this same problem. The first time we sent in passport photos, I cut down the UK size to almost match the 2x2 size. The second time (during AOS), we took his picture with our digital camera, shrunk them down to 2x2 size and put 6 of them on a 4x6 size document and printed the sheet at Walgreens. This cost us about 40 cents as opposed to $20+ for 4 passport photos.

Your fiance(e) could do this if you have a digital photo, know the photo requirements (which can be found here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/com...ition_874.html) and you can shrink them down in MS Paint or Photoshop. Then all s/he needs to do is go to Walgreens or anywhere else that has a print your own photos booth and print it like it's a 4x6 photo. There's no rule that these photos cannot be taken by yourself as long as they meet the requirements.
