:help: I’m calling the attention of the military petitioners (or someone having a military petitioner), I heard about that there’s a privilege for military to expedite the K1 or K3 application process.

Is it so? if you have any idea about this, how it goes? What are the things we need to do?

My fiancé & I are planning to try this since we will be in the Phils together by Aug. By this time, most probably we have our paper’s approval already.

Any idea will be highly appreciated! :)

Yes there is, but only if your fiancee will be deployed within a few months. Otherwise you have to wait with the rest of us.

Doesn't look like the fiance will be deployed w/in the next couple of months if they're planning to be together in the Phillipines in August....unless he is being deployed after August?

I was also curious about the status of being in the military and expediting the process. Well for my situation I got out of the military about 2 years ago with HONORABLE DISCHARGE, but in April 26 I had to go for a screening for a recall. Turns out that they are calling the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve). When I got there they already wrote out my Orders and its seems that I MIGHT be going to IRAQ on OCT 2007-OCT 2008. But I am currently filing an EMPLOYMENT HARDSHIP. I haven't recieve any notice if that is approved yet or not. But out of curiousity, Would it be best to tell USCIS or just wait til I get the notice about my EMPLOYMENT HARDSHIP.

Thank You in advance

It's too bad you didn't get your orders before filing, I think it would have been easier to get the expedite process if you have your orders in hand saying you'll be deployed soon. When did you send your I-129F? When did you file for an employment hardship? I think it would be good if you could update your timeline, so the posters know how your process is going and give you advice based on that.

Well it happened after I have already sent in my I-129. I've sent it in on March 26 but received my NOA1 on April 5. So have been waiting only 37 days so far. When I went to the screen last April 26 I tried to file the Employment Hardship then but had to get more formal with the filing...i.e. military standard paper form. I have filled out what they have sent me and got all my documents to assist with my employment hardship process. I have fax and email everything that they needed on May 4 and never heard from them again. Hopefully this will clear things up but if not please tell me.

Thanks

Well I filed the I-129F before I got the notice of the Recall. I wanted to go and serve the country again but situation has came up that if I leave here, the business would likely fail and I have already filed the I-129F for my fiancee. Plus I don't want to delay anymore time apart from her.

Business history... I started working for my Uncle who owns a CNC Machine Shop when I got out of the military. When I started I used the MGI Bill to help me acquire skills that will help me understand the business better. As time went on and learning as much as I can, he wanted me to take over his position in late March 2006. As a VP, there seems to be more hours put into the business now and more research on how to grow the business even more then it already has. So my first step was to get the company into an International Standard Operations (ISO). This was the fun part... took almost a year for us to get our standard and process to ISO level. Finally pass in March 17, 2007. At that time when we were processing our ISO procedures I overheard someone talking about an 8(a) SDB certificate when I as at a Manufacturing Meeting. So we looked into it and turns out to be a big stepping stone that the company can take. But the process is a pain to get into. :crying: It also took a year to get certified as an 8(a) company. There are only around 60-70 companies in the country that are 8(a) certified. 8(a) only last 9 years once you get it. It help small business get into government and DoD contracts. We filed the 8(a) around Oct. So we expect it to be around end of May or early June (lots of government personnel (congressmen) to help push this process expeditely ). So end of that.. So without me at the company it would hurt the company badly since there is no structure once I leave. (As I see this happen when I went to visit my fiancee for 3 weeks in Feb). It was a headache to sort out that mess when I came back

When I went to the screening on April 26, the gave me my Orders and told me that they will email me an Employment Hardship form. I filled out what they have sent me and provided sufficent evidence of my claim. I faxed and email it back to them on May 4 and have not receive any new of it approved or denied.

Hi Alexandra, My fiance is currently deployed in the warzone. When he got our NOA1 he was about to request for visa expedition because he was going to be deployed but we decided to have the process like normal because the time was so tight. We wanted to be together after our small wedding.

When i was asking for what papers to send to request for expedite...someone gave me the link to Matt85's post.

Anyway, follow Matt85's thread because his request for expedite of visa was approved(correct me if i'm wrong).
