LOL...speaking of international grocery aisles.....Giant Eagle sometimes has one.

The one in Morgantown WV is quite nice. They've got several countries or regions represented therein, including 'Europe' - wherein I can get Heinz Baked Beans, Digestives, Pataks, and some other goodies.

On the other hand, the 'International' aisle of the Giant Eagle in Marietta OH (and yes I swear it had the big 'International Foods' sign) consisted entirely of Prego.

I swear. I am not making this up.

I will not miss any food from the UK with the exception of bread.

We'll see how you feel about that after you've lived in the USA for a while. Its funny how you miss the little things!

What? :o Kit-kats are disgusting in the USA, they taste nothing like the ones in the UK. The chocolate on them is pure Hershey's #######.

Thank you, its not just me then! Maybe Widge somehow manages to get a Canadian Kit Kit instead. The USA is the only place I've ever been where Kit Kats are not made by Nestles, Canadian ones do actually taste like ones from the UK.

Now you have me totally puzzled as to what our Wal-Mart is selling as i) I could have sworn they were made by Nestles ii) they don't to me taste much different to UK ones and I couldn't eat a Hershey bar to save my life so I'm really fascinated now to get my hands on one and see weird.

Dunno how much choc n crisps I ate in UK but I've lost over two stones since I moved stateside never been this slim in my entire adult life before

lol well....strangely enough, I've been the one sending him american chocolate everytime we're not together. He loves fastbreaks! The only thing aside from crusty bread I can foresee him missing down the road would be Irn Bru and Tennants and maybe Scotch Broth (with his crusty bread hehe) :P

(I thought Nestle made kit kats as well, I'm right there with your confusion ;P)

Buy a breadmaker, it's the closet thing you'll probably be able to get to traditional crusty UK bread. Unless you live in Boston or similar, that is. I miss Farmhouse loaves. Big and crusty, you'd cut a chunk off and munch on it. Delicious.

That's what I am going to do...I have a bread maker and I think I will start to make good use of it for Chris.

However my knives stink! I need to get some better knives for slicing!

Leney lives about 30 miles from a Grocery Store (Wegmans) that sells "Farmhouse style bread", which are pretty damn good and about as close to a crusty bread as you're going to get in the middle of knowhere. Its not really that crusty though sadly, but still about as good white unsliced loaf of bread as I've ever had in the USA.

Isn't that a good thing? :)

By the way, the same thing happened to me when I first moved to the USA. Sadly it didn't last!
