Hi! I got my NOA2 yesterday and I want to make sure I'm on target for the next steps and I have a few questions:

1) I need to send the NOA2 hard copy (and additional evidence & I-134) to my fiancee.

2) How do I know when the application has reached NVC? I didn't see any online tracking features on their website and I know we'll get a new case #.

3) Left NVC?

Thanks,

-Dodie

1.) Yes, but I'd keep the original NOA2. Send your fiance just a photocopy. Obviously the I 134 will need to be an original (as well as notarized).

2.) You can call the NVC (there is a forum here for the NVC - the number is in one of the pinned topics). Best to call early in their morning or at midnight. They are on Eastern time.

3.) I'd wait until AT LEAST a week after NOA2 to call NVC, although lately its taking longer than that for them to get it. Hopefully they can tell you then that they have it, what the new case number is, and when it left them - all in one phone call. If not, call them back soon after you get the new case number and surely by then they can tell you when it left there.

And when you call NVC, they'll ask for your fiance's name and birtday. Montreal included the forms that the petitioner needed to fill out. I know they are particular that you use their forms(I-134) etc.

CIS Office : Philadelphia PA

08/25/09 I-751 Sent to VSC

08/26/09 Package arrives at VSC

08/31/09 Check is Cashed/Clears

09/24/09 Biometrics

11/24/09 Approval letter arrives!

All consulates are different in that regard. London doesn't send the I 134 at all - they just tell you that you need it.

Best to wait and see what your consulate sends your fiance. If no I 134 is sent, then download your own.

You can use your CIS (NOA) receipt number from your approval to find out.

On calling the NVC automated voice response number (603) 334-0700 you will.... press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish

press 1 for information about your immigrant visa

It will then ask you if you know your CIS receipt number.....press 1

(Once you have a case number you can use this.....press 2)

You then follow the instructions to key in your number.

It will then tell you if NVC has received the petition, and assigned a number.

You can also email them :

Email address for NVC

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

When making enquiries always put your case number in the subject line.

After you have a date of when it is leaving (approx) you tack all diplomatic pouches going from US to the Consulates by searching on the specific dates :

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

Select the approx dates you expect your package to go out which is usualy 3 to 4 days after NVC tells you they sent out the electronic communication.

put in reference number I-730 and click track.
