Ok well my story is we started our K1 visa application last year but we put our case on hold and now we are resuming it and well I now have a interview in London on 7 june at 10am and I wanted to book my medical also in London the day before saving me two trips to London - well I rang today to book an appointment and I was shocked to hear that the price of the medical went up yesterday from £170 to £200!!! Did anyone else know about this?

Is anyone else going for a medical in London on 6th June? Or interview on 7th June?

There used to be an ongoing list of ppl that had their dates etc but I see noone has continued with it so I have no idea how many ppl have interviews in London on what day - it wopuld be nice to meet up :) Anyways this a heads up you may have to pay £200 now.

Another question about paying for the visa interview I know last year we had to pay it into a bank and we had a payment slip - I havent got one does that mean its ok to pay cash on the day of the interview??

Yeah I posted to Kins on another thread. Right now I am stressing as money has been so tight for us both and I dont even know how I am gonna be able to come up with all the fees and staying overnight at a hotel/bed&breakfast - the cheapest I found was £70 for 1 night with in a twin bed room - My friend is coming with me we thought we may as well have a girly few days:) I am in two minds of rescheduling the apointment for some time later but with how things went last year I dont think it will look too good:( I dont know I will have to talk to my other half later today and see what he tinks - unfortunately he gets paid every 2 weeks and March wasnt a very good month for him so he is a bit behind on some bills:( But work picks up around May/June time so I hope he can sort this out - besides now with the $ at $2 = £1 he has double the amount of money to send me - OHH I am so stressed already. I know everything will be fine:)

Thank you for responding -

Lina

Yeah I know - I just got back from the UK after a two week visit. I came back way more broke than I should have - thanks in part to the medical (even though I budgeted for that). I think the weak $ hurt me.

I will tell you that its wise to take the train to Knightsbridge. We drove in and waited so long there, it cost us 15.30 pounds for the car park. What was particularly frustrating was there weren't very many people there - but yet we waited forever. Oh well - its what we have to do to be together, so we coped. :)
