AND WELL IT DID NOT WORK OUT AS PLANNED :(

I THOUGHT I HAD EVERYTHING READY AND SENT IT ALL TO HER

I GUESS I THOUGHT I READ QUITE WELL, BUT I MUST NOT HAVE

THEY TOLD HER THAT I HAVE TO SEND MY TAX RETURNS FOR 2005 AND 2006

:(

I HAD A LETTER FROM MY WORK, A LETTER FROM THE BANK, THE WHOLE YEAR WORTH OF DEPOSITS

ALL,

THEY DID NOT KEEP HER PASSPORT, THEY DID NOT TELL HER IF SHE HAS BEEN APPROVED. THEY JUST GAVE HER AN ADDRESS WHERE I HAVE TO SEND DHL THE TAX FORMS.

I THOUGHT THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT HER PASSPORT TO GIVE TO HER ONCE MY DOCUMENTS ARRIVED? I DIDNT THINK WITH ALL THAT EVIDENCE THAT I NEEDED MY TAX RESORTS. AM I THINKING WRONG?

:(:(:(

The Manila consulate didn't ask for my employer letter or bank letter. All they wanted to see for income was the I-134 and my most recent tax return.

It doesn't mean that she was denied, her interview it was moved for somewhere in the future when they have all the documents they asked for. Everything will be alright, just have a little bit more patience. Good luck!

thanks all for the responses

i also thought that tax returns were only for self employed

is that not the case?

That is a consulate by consulate decision. I don't know what Peru generally requires, but ANY consulate can ask you for ANY documentation that they want to in order to prove you'll be able to support the foreign fiance/e. Did you find others going through Peru to find out what documents they took with them?

Or perhaps your income was just borderline enough that they felt they needed a more complete picture of your resources?

Aside from that, it sounds like they will likely issue the visa when they have the documents.

Ras-

That really bothers me. Sometimes these forms aren't even clear, most of our actions we take are based on people on this site! Not from these forms.

But what others are saying is correct - you were not denied. You've made it this many months, you're getting close.

There's always prayer.

K-3 Visa

07/22/2006 - Applied for K1 - I-129F mailed to Vermont Service Center, VSC

08/02/2006 - Package got sent back requesting a different form (different revision). Proceeded to weep like a girl. Decided against fiance visa with newfound setback. Will wait for December wedding.

12/24/2006 - Marriage

02/05/2007 - I-130 sent to VSC and confirmed receipt following day.

02/13/2007 - I-130 NOA1 received

02/15/2007 - K-3 sent to Chicago and confirmed receipt following day.

02/26/2007 - K-3 NOA1

03/02/2007 - I-129F (K-3) sent to Vermont Service Center (from Missouri Service Center)

03/11/2007 - Received email notice: I-129F in VSC is now pending (whatever the heck that means)

04/05/2007 - I-130 and K-3 APPROVED! (email notice) (rec'd postal mail 04/13)

04/09/2007 - NVC received case (called 603 334 0700)

04/11/2007 - Shipped to Chennai.

05/17/2007 - Received confirmation of receiving package via postal mail in India with interview date! (took 36 days!)

06/15/2007 - Interview! VISA APPROVED!!

06/29/2007 - She's in my arms...

YEAH

I CALLED

THEY TOLD ME THAT WHEN I SEND THE REQUESTED TAX FORMS, THEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ISSUE THE VISA. I GUESS HE WANTS TO SEE THAT I MAKE ENUFF. BUT, THE THING IS I GOT INTO A RUFF ENUFF CAR ACCIDENT IN 2005, SO I WAS DOING REHAB AND ALL THAT AND COULD ONLY WORK FOR A FEW MONTHS OF THAT YEAR, AND THE SAME WITH 2006. SO I DID NOT MAKE ENUFF. I SENT A NOTARIZED LETTER FROM MY WORK HOW MUCH I MAKE NOW FULL TIME AND 4 OF MY LAST CHECKS TO SHOW THEM. I DON'T KNOW, BUT ANYWAY I HAVE TO SEND THEM AND HOPEFULLY WE GET APPROVED. I DONT KNOW WHAT THE TAX RETURNS WILL PROVE NOW. BUT......

MAN

I MAN IS SO SAD THESE DAYS

DJVEED SAYS THERE IS ALWAYS PRAYER

BUT AS IT WAS BEST SAID

I AM NOT AFRAID, I AM NOT AFRAAAAID, I AM NOT AFRAID, CAUSE I LOVE GOD. ONCE I WAS DOWN AND OUT, BUT NOW WE ARE HERE AND NOW, WITH THE VISA IN THE HAND WE ALL FEEL SO GOOD.

YES

it is decent news i hope

I sent what they need, the only thing is he is looking for proof that i can support her. The thing of it is, is I did not come close to making poverty guidelines for 2005 and 2006, the tax forms I sent to him. But I already sent a notarized letter from my work how much I make now, which does work, and 4 check stubs. And letters from my doctor saying i was f-ed up before.

So you all think it is going to work out if the tax forms I sent don't have the money required? I sent the letter from employer again and more checks.

Thank you friends

I'm having a hard time understanding your posts, but I'm trying my best to answer.

It sounds as if they're wanting your tax returns to establish what your salary history has been - as if they are concerned that historically, you have not made enough to support your fiance/e (even though your current income is enough to support her).

If that is correct, then the 2005/2006 tax returns may not be enough to help. It just depends on what the consular officer's opinion is of your financial picture.

It may not hurt you to find someone who is willing to be a cosponsor, and send their documents along as well.

Sorry TracyTN

Sorry I am all over the place on my posts. Yes they want me to establish my finacial history. but i am not quite sure why I would need a cosponsor when I do make enough now. I thought that all that mattered was that I can support her now. I did make $17,000 in 2006 but I think that is a bit low still for 2 people. but I just cant understand why I would need a co-sponsor when I do make enough. Does anyone know?

I think this post of Yodrak's explains it better than I could. The first paragraph of his post is probably most relevant to you.
