Tobacco Question on medical

Hi all,

I was looking through the questions for the medical exam I have on May 17th, and one of them is "Have you ever used Tobacco?". I've smoked on and off for the past few years (cigarrettes and cigars, usually for special occasions such as new years, and the occasional few on a Friday night at the end of a long week). Just wanted to check that a) This won't cause a problem at the interview, and b ) What to put in the note of explanation? I was thinking of putting something along the lines of "I have the occasional cigar or cigarrette, usually on special occasions, at most 3-4 cigarettes per week".

Any advice or suggestions welcome (I've been cutting down my use considerably in the past few months, so it's one less thing to worry about if I go into boot camp etc - where it's not allowed at all...not to mention the upcoming ban on smoking in the UK).

Thanks - now that the medical/interview's got a scheduled date I'm getting increasingly paranoid that everything's in order LOL!

I happily acknowledged having smoked 20 a day for ten years, and still passed the medical/got the visa.

Maybe it's part of the overall medical assessment - not a pass/fail standard.

Good luck

PS Smoking isn't being banned in the UK - it's being banned in several types of enclosed public spaces.

My fiance put 'yes' because he smokes occasionally. He didn't fill out anything for a supplemental answer, and they didn't ask him for it. (This is for London - dunno what consulate you're going through.)
