Chennai Help!

Hello!!

My K3 after approval was shipped from NVC to Chennai on April 11, 15 days ago. Chennai as of last night has no record of it arriving. How long does this normally take? Should I panic? If so, how do I rectify??

Do you know if a case number was assigned prior to it being sent to Chennai?

You should try calling the DOS (dept of state) at 202-663-1225 (option 1 listen to the whole recording.. after a small silence, the recording will tell you to press "0" to talk to a live operator). Reference your NVC case number if you have one or your USCIS case number, and they should be able to provide some information. I called the DOS several times to get updates on when my case was received by Mumbai, and they actually informed me about the interview date before the consulate did.

Yes a case number was assigned, as per the letter received from NVS stating the pkg will be sent to Chennai. I'll try calling that number.

Package to Chennai?? I got an answer via emailing Chennai. They say they won't "record" anything until 30 days after receiving from NVC. So if your package is shipped out from NVC, wait 30 days before sweating.

I called the DOS several times to get updates on when my case was received by Mumbai, and they actually informed me about the interview date before the consulate did.

Is this also true of K3 Visa Petitions? The reason i ask is because K3 Visa and IR Spouse Visa petitions are handled differently even at NVC. My K3 visa case was transfered to embassy at beginning of April and we waited couple of weeks for Packet 3 but it didn't arrive so we downloaded the required from from the embassy website and submitted to the embassy on April 18. Since then we have not received any information from the embassy. We sent couple of email and still no reply.

Its the Mumbai Embassy. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say.
