Hey there fellow Aussies,

Has anyone been examined by Dr Okraglik and can share their experience?

I just made an appointment with him as the only other doctor in Melbourne was busy until May 20. I couldn't believe that I had to pay a $100 deposit over the phone for my appoinment!!

Also, my case has was fowarded to SYD yesterday. When will they send me the paperwork as my medical and fingerprint check are within the next 14 days?

Thanks everyone!

11-05-06 Sent I-130 to California

06-01-07 INTERVIEW

06-04-07 Received VISA in the mail. Silly Consulate issued me CR-1 instead of IR-1, no time to change it in Australia, will try to change it once in California.

06-10-07 POE SFO

06-21-07 Receive SSN#

07-12-07 Receive Green Card in the mail STILL HAD CR1 INSTEAD OF IR1

12-10-07 Finally sent I-90 asking for a new green card with correct info.

06-17-08 INFOPASS - Was told USCIS sent new green card to old address back in Jan. Will resend it but may not be able to correct error as it was made by Consulate not USCIS.

What to do now??

Estimates/Stats :Your I-130 was approved in 68 days.

Your interview took 303 days from filing.

I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU WORK OUT YOUR MEDICAL DATE.

AS I LIKE ALL CR1 VISA APPLICANTS HAD TO WAIT TO RECIEVE,

OUR INTERVIEW PACKAGE PRIOR TO MAKING APPOINTMENT WITH U.S. DOCTOR.

I MADE THE MEDICAL APPOINTMENT THE DAY I RECIEVED MY PAPERWORK,'

FROM THE SYDNEY CONSULATE RE MY APPOINTMENT DATE.

USUALLY IT RANGES FROM 4 WEEKS T0 7 WEEKS FROM WHEN YOU,

RECIEVE PAPERWORK FROM CONSULATE

IN SYDNEY TO ACTUAL INTERVIEW DATE.

I WAS ON THE UNDERSTANDING THAT YOU CAN'T

MAKE MEDICAL APPOINTMENT,WITH THE U.S. DOCTOR UNTIL

YOU RECIEVE YOUR PAPERWORK FROM CONSULATE.

GOOD LUCK WITH IT ALL AND ANY OTHER QUESTIONS JUST ASK

I HAD MY NATIONAL POLICE CHECK AND FINGERPRINTS DONE LAST DECEMBER.

Thanks Hampster!!

Looking at your timeline, I may receive the required paperwork a few days after my exam.

Hopefully I can still go ahead with it. I just may say that I left it at home and will have to return at a later date. The lady on the phone told me what to bring as I did say that I was not in MEL to check my mail.

Hi there,

Just a small point that may be of interest to you. Paul (Hampster) uploaded a PDF of the paperwork you get sent in the package that you take to the medical. Its somewhere in one of the most recent pages of the DOWN UNDER forum. They are, as Paul says *to be used as a guide only*.

I hope this helps .. use only as a guide only..

scroll down for the download of the medical stuff as said previously,

USE ONLY AS A GUIDE ONLY :innocent::yes:

Also here is the South Australian Police link

for your National Police Clearance as well as fingerprints.

Make sure when you go in to have Cash take around $150.00 to be safe.

They don't do eftpos or direct debit.

Also when doing the paperwork,

mention to the Officer doing it say i is for a Visa.

Q: Do I need to have my fingerprints taken to get a NPC?

A:No, SAPOL checks identifying data and this is normally sufficient.

You may however have special requirements such as a

visa for overseas travel, employment or immigration,

or your employer or regulatory body requires absolute identity checking.

A NPC with fingerprints requires an additional charge

not subject to any concessions (see Fees below) .

Fingerprints and history check: $140.00

You must ensure your fingerprint form is firmly attached

to the NPC application form.

SAPOL is unable to advise on visa requirements

and will need to verify the requirements yourself.

Q: Do I need a NPC for my visa application?

A:SAPOL is unable to advise on visa or overseas travel requirements.

Please check your visa requirements carefully

as you may require a NPC prepared by

the Australian Federal Police and you may also

require fingerprints to be taken.

Q: How can I collect my NPC?

A:You may request that the NPC is collected from any police station,

mailed to your postal address or mailed to a third party.

(I would pick it up. just get them to call you on your best contact number.)

You must provide suitable identification at the time of collection.

Having a NPC posted to you is undertaken at your own risk.

SAPOL holds no responsibility for any loss or unauthorised access which may occur.

You need to indicate on the form whether

the NPC is to be sent to your postal or residential address.

You may collect the NPC from Adelaide Police Station if it is urgently required.

Someone else may collect a NPC for you,

if you have signed a letter of authority or completed the third party

collection section on the form.

You are required to identify the person collecting your NPC

on the application form, or you must provide them with a letter of authority.

To ensure the security and privacy of your information,

applicants are unable to vary to collection method

after the form has been submitted.

For more details about NPCs and how to apply,

refer to the NPC frequently asked questions or contact the Records Release Unit.
