Hello all.

I just received NOA2 approvals 2 weeks ago. How does one track the progress now? To NVC and to embassy? I tried calling but only get automated responses, impossible to speak to human there.

Thanks in advance, you all make this long process much more bearable.

You can use your CIS (NOA) receipt number from your approval to find out.

On calling the NVC automated voice response number (603) 334-0700 you will.... press 1 for English press 2 for Spanish

press 1 for information about your immigrant visa

It will then ask you if you know your CIS receipt number.....press 1

(Once you have a case number you can use this.....press 2)

You then follow the instructions to key in your number.

It will then tell you if NVC has received the petition, and assigned a number.

You can also email them :

Email address for NVC

NVCINQUIRY@state.gov

When making enquiries always put your case number in the subject line.

After you have a date of when it is leaving (approx) you tack all diplomatic pouches going from US to the Consulates by searching on the specific dates :

http://track.dhl-usa.com/TrackByRef.asp?nav=TrackByRef

Select the approx dates you expect your package to go out which is usualy 3 to 4 days after NVC tells you they sent out the electronic communication.

put in reference number I-730 and click track.

Thank you for the input. I just tried calling again and the computer does not accept receipt numbers that start with "MSC" as mine does. So it then transfers me to automated responses again. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again. just got off the phone with a human finally, but again very frustrated. They show no record of our our receipt number still and tell me it could be 30 to 90 days to receive? This pony express would be quicker. Thank you again, your help was greatly appreciated.

Once they get there, K-3 visas do not stay at NVC more than a couple of weeks. About all you can do is call and speak to customer service representative -- the automated system will do you no good. If you are that anxious, you can call regularly and, once you do get your case number, you can ask them when the petition will be sent out to the embassy.

Meh
