Well, our K-1 approval package made it to Moscow Embassy from NVC about the middle of March only to be put under administrative review , with no interview date as yet. (lucky us) . I finally got answer to e-mail that it has been sent to Washington for clearances to be completed. When I call or e-mail, it is the usual "it is still in administrative review". I am resigned to the fact after all my research, that no answers will be forthcoming , no time frame, no reasons given. 2 Senators, and 1 congressman send requests , but same answers. I will continue to send e-mails , and call. I will be polite. Like everyone that goes thru this, we are disappointed in the system and discouraged that we can not make plans for our future. We invisioned to be married by July here in states but know that will probably not happen now. This is my first K-1 and her 2nd. She has been to states last year on k-1 but returned well before visa expiration date. I am 19 years older but we are both over 40, so no big deal there. Neither one of us have any criminal history and are good citizens of each of our countries. They say sometimes it depends on who gets your package at Embassy and can pick out anything to send for further clearances.

I will be going to Russia to meet my fiancee for the 4th time in May and thought about going to Embassy during the visiting hours to check on status while there in Moscow but was told they will not discuss visa problems there in person. Anyone know? Also when I send my e-mails to Embassy can I send pictures of us if I want too? Has anyone done this?

Is there any reason why she will not get her interview ?

I guess in Washington , they can do simple FBI check or run the gammet of agencies check. We just hope that what we thought was routine will not become our nightmire as others have experienced. maybe all is well and will hear something in a week or so. Then again, maybe we will still be lonely and longing for each other for months. My filing date was Dec 6, 2006.- jordoc-

Keep your spirits up. It's not unheard of to have to wait for a month or more to get an interview date from the embassy in Moscow.

I went over when my fiancee had her interview and there was a problem with her daughters visa. I was able to go in and speak with a CO (not during the interview) to find out what the problem was and how to correct it. This was several days after the interview when my fiancee received her visa but the daughters visa was not issued. All turned out well.

I can understand your feelings exactly and A/R is probably the worst thing that can happen to a Visa Application. Many escape with short stays in A/R. For others it is a total disaster. On one other tread is a guy who has been in it for 2 years. My congressman has one other in A/R that has been there for 9 months. The worst case I have heard of is one that lasted 8 years. For me it is three months with no end in sight and no information available. Mine hit at NVC rather than the Embassy.

The similarities we have are the country for one, Russia, a second K-1 for our gals. Mine returned in 30 days on her first K-1. In my case it was also my second K-1 with a different fiancee as well.

Because of the possibility of it being very very long term we are looking at the possibilty of finding a country we can live in together until it comes through. We are going to decide that in about a month if there is still no progress.

12/14/2006 Applied for K-1 with request for Waver for Multiple filings within 2 years.
