I just read that someone else had their interview this morning and it was approved....Congratulations!

I must have been a little after him, because after my 2 hour wat outside I was given number 11. The process inside was incredibly fast and I didn't have time to sit down at all until after it was all over an dI wanted to check that I hadn't forgotton anything.

Process was the same as I have read other's had experienced - see one woman who takes all your documents and copies. Pay $100. See another person who asks you to hold up your right hand and swear to tell the truth. She asked me the questions about how I met my fiance. How many times he had visited me, and I had visited him. What does he do for a living. What do I do. Why was I not wearing an engagement ring (didn't seem a problem she said she was just curious). Then told me the passport would be returned to me in 3-5 working days. I just kindof stood there, amazed at how smoothly it all had gone. I had a file of documents (wedding invitations, ring receipts, e-mails, boarding passes etc) but they didn't want to se any of that. I was told that the process for the fiance is usually pretty straightforward and they don't need additional evidence. I am pleased I brought it all along with me though.

So, now we can start makning plans knowing for sure that they actually can happen. That is a wonderful relief! I fly out to be reunited with my fiance on May 13th and I can't wait. Counting down the days....

Thankyou everyone for your words of support and advice. This website has been invaluable in this long drawn-out visa process. I am sure we will return to the forums as soon as we start on the AOS!!!

Good luck for all you Brits with visa interviews coming up. I am sure you will all be fine. And just a hint, to calm your nerves whilst you are waiting, chat to the policemen. They are really lovely and they said that hardly anyone really tries to make conversation with them and as a result their days feel very long!

20/4/2007 - interview - APPROVED!!!

25/4/2007 - passport/K1 visa received

13/5/2007 - fly to NY

18/5/2007 - Court House Wedding (Big family wedding 4/8/2007)

21/5/2007 - AOS and EAD filed (via Chicago PO box)

21/5/2007 -Applied for SSN

29/5/2007 - SS card received

29/5/2007 - NOA1 received for AOS & EAD (day 8)

31/5/2007 - NOA received for Biometrics (day 10)

14/5/2007 - EAD touched!

21/6/2007 - Biometrics (day 31)

24/6/2007 - EAD & AOS touched!

3/7/2007 - AOS transferred to CSC

11/7/2007 - AOS touched Case pending at CSC

12/7/2007 - AOS touched again!

2/8/2008 - EAD card production ordered

3/8/2008 - AOS and EAD touched

Congratulations and good luck, it's a big relief isn't it. Very nice story.

I tried to start a chat with the policeman too, while waiting at the embassy, but he told me he only spoke french? :blink: very short chat, merci

Yes, I thought it was strange too, actually I wanted to ask him if it would be possible for me to move my car to the carpark near the embassy because we got to the interview early in the morning and they made me park so far away and I knew it was going to be so hot that day, about 115 fahrenheit, and I didn't want my mother in law to melt on the way back to the car.
