New Member here...I sent my I-130 to the Texas Center 4/3/2007..I haven't heard anything yet..I know it's only been 2 weeks, but I've seen a lot of people's timelines and it seems everyone else has gotten a response really quick..Should I have already heard something? I am a US citizen and my wife is from the Philippines. Do they email you before they send a notification by regular mail?..I sent it by regular mail, so I have no idea if they received it. I sent a bank money order and it hasn't been processed yet. Am I getting uneasy too quick? I can't check status online until I get notified..Any uplifting reassuring words from anyone?...

Give it a few more weeks, if after 30 days you haven't received anything, call the USCIS customer service line @ 800.375.5283.

I highly recommend you send your I-129F petition certified mail, that way you'll know when it was received and it's only $2.40 with the USPS.

I'm kinda in the same boat as Michael is, but I did send my I-130 packet with delivery confirmation, and the post office confirms delivery on 04/09/07 at 5:30am, but the check still hasn't been cashed and I haven't received the NOA1 yet, and i'm also curious as to how long it normally takes them to send the NOA1 and/or cash the check? I'm not too concerned yet because I hear that I-130 apps sent to Texas automatically get forwarded to California anyway. Does anyone know when USCIS normally updates the processing times bulletin on its website? The most current is still showing March 15 which is more than a month ago.

Yes, give it more time. I sent my I-130 to the NSC on 02/05/07 and the check was cashed on 02/20/07.

Also, the USCIS timelines are not very accurate. I suggest you look at the timelines given by VJers here on VJ to have a more rounded idea of how long each process is.

Yeah thanks a lot, but i'm already worried about a lot of things after reading the bulletins here about people not receiving their NOA1 even after several months. I was going to go the I-129F route and go for the k-3 visa, but the more I read about the I-130 timelines, the more I question whether its even worth it-especially if there is going to be problems getting the NOA1. Maybe its the deluge of information i'm trying to read about the process that is making me paranoid and skeptical about the whole thing.

Each case is different and we all have our reasons for filing the way we did. If you see that CR-1s for Perú are moving right along K-3s, then you'll be better off in the long run, in my opinion anyway. That way you won't have to deal with AOS and EAD later.
