Processing Times?

My husband and I have been married just over a month, he is a USC living in Minnesota and I am a British citizen... stuck in England! We are about to send off our I-130 to the Nebraska service centre, as directed in the I-130 accompanying information, but I have noticed something which seems strange to me.... When I look at processing times for Nebraska there are none for the I-130?! Does this mean that they don't process them and will be sending it to another service centre? If so, is this going to add more time to what appears to already be a lengthy process?

My second question is more general, are there any British/American couples who are going/gone through the visa process? We'd love to hear how your application is going and any time lines!

Thanks,

Sarah

I sent mine to Nebraska, and it was then forwarded to California. I don't think any I-130 processing is done in Nebraska.

You should always send your petitions to the corresponding service center even if they are transferred some where else. NSC and TSC no longer process I-130 & I-129F petitions, so even though they have to be sent there first, they will be be forwarded to CSC.

As for the time frame, it could add maybe an extra week for the whole process. Currently we are seeing an average of about 90 days or so from the time the petition was mailed out to NOA2. Again, these are just average time frames, some take longer and some take less.

CR-1

02/05/07 - I-130 sent to NSC

05/03/07 - NOA2

05/10/07 - NVC receives petition, case # assigned

08/08/07 - Case Complete

09/27/07 - Interview, visa granted

10/02/07 - POE

11/16/07 - Received green card and Welcome to America letter in the mail

Removing Conditions

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

That is totally normal. Your form will be forarded to California. I know it sounds stupid but you'd better do what they say, no matter what. The transfer is quite fast, so don't worry, it won't delay the process.

N-400 process started 09/2017
