Hi everyone!

We sent in our 129F to the Texas serv center, as instructed in the form, but we found out it was forwarded to the California serv center. My fiance lives in Texas, so we were under the impression that the Texas serv center was the correct one, does anyone know why they could have forwarded the petition to California?

You were correct to send it to Texas. The only thing is that Texas is no longer processing K-1's. That's why it was forwarded to California. You may as well sit back and wait with the rest of us until you hear something! :o

Yeah it's stupid. You have to send it to the service center as it says in the directions (in your case Texas), but all cases except those in Vermont, end up at California. Theres nothing to worry about. Texas and Nebraska simply no longer handle I-129fs, but they never updated the instructions to reflect this because, well, the USCIS doesn't know how to update instructions or something.

CSC...Some days it feels like a nursery rhyme, other days it feels like a nightmare. The good news is you have friends here. Find you a place in line. Wishing you all the best on your journey! (F)

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Thanks to all! Yeah, that doesn't make much sense that they would have one state office process all those claims. I guess we'll just wait like everyone else unfortunately

But still, we are thrilled to see things starting to move

 I think we'll look at turtles differently from now on

Mononoke, you say january fillers are getting approved around this time? that's really good!

We are a little confused about what to expect with the processing times, because the USCIS web site says they are processing forms received in sept 2006, but that doesn't really match the timelines other users are posting on the web site

Any ideas why that might be?

Thanks again for all the help!

Yeah - the fact that 80% of the petitions are going the black hole they call CSC is cause of a great deal of frustration around here! Also - you'll find the numbers that USCIS publishes are absolute worst case scenarios just intended to keep people off their back! (Either that or it's just where the dart landed when they were throwing it - not sure which). The numbers compiled for us by wonderful people like kengumbo are much more accurate. Welcome aboard!

It's a tie between the turtle and snail.

I think they haven't changed the instructions because in the future, all of the service centers will once again process all types of visa applications and the problem is they don't know when. The fees are going up(or did they already go up?) so maybe that has something to do with it. The bad news is that won't happen until after our time. The good news is that if/when that does happen, it will take the burden off cali and speed up process times for our future visajourney brothers and sisters. This is just my theory. But I agree, either way you look at it, it's stupid.
