different conversation, how so? did you not say “What's happening in Alergia today with the Islamists groups are directly influencing what is happening in Morocco.”? and just how is that?

There has been worry that the groups in Algeria, which claim to have ties with Al Qaeda, will have an influence in Morocco. Yes, Algeria has had many more issues. However, Morocco is a much more appealing target due to (1) the large amount of tourists from Europe, Australia, and the US and (2) Morocco's relationship with Western governments.

Here is a quote from an Al Jazeera article just last month talking about it.

Algerian influence

Morocco has said it had information about an al-Qaeda plot to mount an attack, but that the circumstances of the latest blast were not clear.

North African governments fear violence may spill over from Algeria after the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat renamed itself al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb with the aim of fusing similar groups together.

the problem with that, is that zawahiri announced this merging of al-qaeda with the GSPC of algeria in september of 2006...over three years after the may 2003 bombings in casablanca. GICM, who have ties to al-qaeda that go back further than GSPC's do, were responsible for the attack in 2003. that one didn't have anything to do with algeria either. and for all intents and purposes anyways, GSPC as an 'algerian' group is long dead. their 40,000 members in the 90s had dwindled to a couple hundred guys scattered around the countryside. it was only after they dropped their 'exclusive to algeria' mission that they got any support from a global, international group like al-qaeda. the 'algeria' part is completely incidental. it'd be far more accurate to say spillover from wretched western foreign policy all over the planet has a hand in violence spilling over into a place like morocco than trying to cite violence in algeria for it. regardless, i just don't see this gaining as strong a foothold in morocco as it has in algeria. sure there's bound to be random acts of violence. but the scale, the reaction, everything about it in morocco is so different, they're so much more different than they will ever be alike.

I would have agreed with this statement a short time ago, but Morocco has changed significantly in the last 10 years. These incidents are no longer isolated acts of violence by fringe groups. There are elements in Morocco using the issues of poverty and dissatisfaction with the establishment (not western foreign policy) to put forward their own message about western foreign policy regular moroccans would never have gone this far to defend even 4 years ago. Things are bad when Moroccans are willing to blow themselves up.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

what's wrong with the statement? there's still nothing happening there, nor will there ever be, that even begins to compare to the atrocious bloodbath that was algeria beginning in the 90s and continues today. in algeria the killing then and now is completely indiscriminate. moroccans may have blown themselves up, but at this last go around they took great pains to avoid bystanders-the target were the police. completely and totally at odds with the indiscriminate violence of algeria, both before and after GSPC hooked up with "al qaeda".

Things in Morocco are not as they are in Algeria, but things in Morocco are changing, significantly.
