11/09/12 - Biometrics notice received, biometrics appointment date 11/19/12

11/21/12 - In line for interview scheduling (letter received via USPS mail 12/17/12)

01/16/13 - N-400 interview/testing - APPROVED! Oath ceremony letter received late Jan. 2013

02/26/13 - OATH CEREMONY COMPLETED - NATURALIZED US CITIZEN!

There's the link for the "infamous" video. I was so disturbed that I had to watch madwhitejamaican and paleface on YouTube after...

OMG!! Well I looked at that video and it was ok...a bit boring but what caught my eye was the other video to the side called:

Rent a Dread

Well I hope we all have heard of this "concept" as I hadn't until after my first time visiting Jamaica but it is apparently quite common. Its basically the real like story to JA English Romeo story. This video is apparently old cause as I was watching I was SHOCKED to hear the voice of a German woman who once they showed her face I was like :o I know her!!!!! She is a good friend to my husband and his family and came to our wedding, and I know her son and they live in Jamaica still and she is on this video talking about the reason women like to "rent a dread". I cannot wait to tell my husband he is gonna DIE!!!

OMG....I can only imagine my husband sucking teeth when that guy on the beach showed himself in that yellow thong thing and whatever the animal print thing was.

Funny about the German woman too.

How many of the SO's have dreads?

You guys should have seen the look on hubby's face when saw that video, first he refused to believe they were men, then said there was no way they were in JA. He was in total disbelief saying they must be in Kingston. :blink:

My husband dosen't like the dread ting.

Do what JaEnglishgirl advised me to. Go to Photobucket.com and upload your pics there, then click on and right click to copy and patste into your Yardies reply. That's all and I got it. :thumbs::thumbs:

There's already an establised yardie thread on Yahoo that has everyone's photos in there. Just email her and ask her to let you join that group and then post your pictures on there with everyone else.

Wow...well I see this post is ever growing and still going strong. Almost 600 pages and this must be like the 4th installment.

I never thought it would have grown so much over the last two years when I started it. I'm glad that it has become a place for all yankee/yardie couples to meet, chat, share advice and support one another. I know I've been really bad about coming in to visit but life has totally gotten in the way. There was a time that I was so engulfed by the immigration process that I guess once it was over it was nice to take a break. But don't think for a second that you all are not in my thoughts and prayers. I have a bit of news to share, Squito and I are expecting our first child in April. I guess another one bit the dust huh, lol. I remember when Rhonda had me at the top of the baby list. We should've put some money on it because look at how many others got knocked before I did, lol. Anyway, just stopping by to check in and say hello. Hope everyone is doing well.
