How many passport pictures are needed for the interview? I know that it is four for the medical. Is it two for the interview?

Packet 3 states to bring 6 color, matte finish, 2 inch square, on white or off-white background photographs. For the police report I've read somewhere that 2 are required. For the medical 4 passport style photos are needed. Donna went last week and had 12 passport photos made for all this.

AOS Journey:

Thanks Jay...I just though 6 pictures is a little much. But if they want 100 ...at this point...we'll have to make it happen. :)

hello everyone,

I had the baby on Monday and hubby passed his interview yesterday, he said the officer told him out of 45 people so far for the morning, he was the only one who got a visa. I'm still waiting to hear all the details so I can pass it along.

Thanks to and for all the VJers, who posted info and answered questions, I'm sure without VJ and that very important binder he would not have passed.

Another congratulations on your husbands visa!! What an exciting time for your family!

I just wanted to share that I've gotten through to the immigration dept of the embassy using (702) 6174, 6168 and 6304 in addition to the 6008

And for those who use calling cards try the western union it gives ~8 cents a minute to land lines and ~32 cents a minute for cells. You can recharge it over the phone.

but the Jus Talk from C&W gives 5 cents a minute and you can use it to call Ja from here or they can use it to call here from Ja. Your SO can recharge this card in Ja

The sprint card from CVS is good but you have to make sure to buy the international card. It gives 16 cents a min to both land lines and cells. You can rechard this over the phone too but if you do it in the store you get 10% free.

None of these cards steal your minutes. If you use 5 minutes it takes 5 minutes not 30

Good luck!

ohh I forgot my question

I know everyone can hear the question the CO is asking during the interview but does everyone hear all your responses too? Or is it more discrete?

Thanks in advance

You can here everything both sides of the conversation. Nothing is private. If they have something real private they will send you to another booth and you can discuss this. My husband was sent to a private area for a few minutes on a matter.

So, so far.....that I know, we are the only ones to have waited this long on the Yardie thread. I've done a TON of research on the VJ site and since there's "no deadline"......??

I thought you had to AOS when you'll get married. Doesn't he need the EAD? Or is that done separately?

Yes, you are SUPPOSED to file for AOS immediately after you get married. Otherwise, your husband will be out of status. His Visa is only good for the 90 days until you get married. He needs to file AOS to become a "conditional permanent resident" and get his green card. You have the option of filing for EAD and AP which allow him to work and travel outside the country. Or you can just wait for the green card which will allow him to do both.

Question....why can't they just give the visa at the appointment? What is the purpose of sending it via courier? Any words?

Because they actually take your passport and incorporate the Visa right into the passport. It's not a seperate document. Then they send your passport back to you - with the Visa inside.

when i got to the hospital they said i was 5 centimeters and apparently my contractions weren't coming quick enough for them so they gave me some drug that starts with a P to make my contractions come quicker, I'll stop at this point with respect to all the first time mothers.

don't worry Rhonda - there is nothing to worry about

Oh Lord. No epidural? I would cry :crying:

I think the drug you're talking about is called Pitocin or something like that.
